SPOT ON 67308 Yogi Lodge

A good budget option. I had a basic room with clean sheets and clean en suite bathroom with hot water. About a 15 minute walk to the ghats. There is a good restaurant on the ground floor with wifi. The staff are very welcoming and kind and it feels very safe. They can organise train tickets etc. for you and they also have a morning or evening tour of some places around the city, including a boat ride, which seems very reasonably priced and I thought was worthwhile.

I arrived with my girlfriend at 4:00am to Varanasi after an overnight train ride. We didn't have to energy to look for a guest house so we just hopped in a rickshaw and asked the driver to take us to a place close by. We both feel so lucky that this all happened by chance. The owner and staff were so incredibly nice and helpful. We had some things to do on the computer one day so we sat around for hours and they just kept bringing cups of chai to make sure we were happy. The rooms don't have great views but there is a roof top balcony that is a great spot to hang out and have some tea. It's a 15 minute walk from all the madness of the ghats. This was our second time in Varanasi, and we wanted to be away from the ghats outside of the crazy tourist area. This place definitely fit the bill. We liked that we could get there quickly but could also walk around an area that was more quiet. I will stay here again if I come back to Varanasi.

Shiva and the stuff are really kind. The place is 15 minutes walk from the main ghat, which is good because to travel around varansi. The geusthouse is quite and nice. The rooms are cheap, with hot shower all day. I enjoyed staying here.

The Old Yogi Lodge is simple, clean and cheap - what more could you want?! This is a great budget option and I felt very at home here. The staff are welcoming and friendly, it's family run, and there's a cafe downstairs where you can meet other travellers as well as a rooftop to sit out on (offering views when the city is not smog smothered!).

Nice place to spend a couple of days! Good value for the cheap price! Good location! Beautiful people running the place! nothing fancy just the necessary! |The owner is trying to make the place grow so is nice if all the backpackers who stay there give him a time to help using booking or with ideas to make a better place! The famili is lovely and the place have a lot of potential

Once in Varanasi, the Old Yogi Lodge is a great deal for you to stay. Me ad my wife stayed for one night, an we would have no problem on getting back there one day.||The room is clean, staff is very helpful (they offer to help you with trips, tuk tuk booking, or anything you need, but different from what you expect from India, they do not insist on that, making you very comfortable.||Apart from that, I must say it is not that close to the Ganges rives Ghats. It is located 1,5 km distant from the closest Ghat, and it may be very annoying to walk the way. The positive side of that, is that is located away from the noise side of the old city. Anyway it is a indian experience.||I definitely recommend it.

Do not confuse Yogi Lodge located near the Ghats, with Old Yogi Lodge located 20 minutes away from there.|Yogi Lodge had been recommended to us but we made the mistake and spent a few nights in Old Yogi Lodge. The room was average but a overpriced, the food was really not good (except for the pancake), the owner was not particularly welcoming, and became really unpleasant when we left. We had a laundry incident where one of our expensive polo got completely wasted. When we asked for at least a small compensation (even if we did not expect much anyway), we were suddenly crooks who were trying to get a discount, we "had given an already wasted polo" and finally, "there are always problems with French"... I must admit we were not friendly either in our frustration, but we would have appreciated a bit more concern, and no insults.

Here was my home in Varanasi. Shiva (lodge keeper) will help you for everything what you need. Atmosphere is nice, because it's little bit away from main ghat, but still close by. You can make early morning yoga on rooftop and looking a stars in night time. I've feel blessed. Perfect to me and hopefully perfect to you. <3 Bless <3
