Sahi River View Guest House

We had a lovely stay at Sahi River View Guest House. The location, the staff, the cleanliness and the food , all are top notch. The guest house is at just 2 minutes walk from Assi Ghat, where the Gangaji Aarti and Subah-e-Banaras musical programme can be enjoyed every morning. The Manager, Mr. Jitender, is a very courteous, supportive and helpful person. He accommodated our requests as regards booking our room on phone, providing the room with a beautiful view, arranging a late night dinner when we landed and arranging our transport to Prayagraj. The chef Ms.Shikha cooks awesome, finger licking food, which can be enjoyed on the well managed terrace with the stunning views of Gangaji. The helping staff Ravi and one more guy are always there to help with the luggage and cheerfully opening the house at early and late hours. In all, we had a wonderful stay at the property. Would love to come back.

We had an excellent 4 night stay in this guesthouse! The best parts are the location and the kind help of the staff. There is always someone in reception and they are glad to help with everything. The room we took was pretty standard. The hotel has a nice terrace and serves food and drinks.

The main USP of this hotel is location and Its best when it comes to Value for Money .Its just in front of Assi Ghat . This hotel has a very old charm which I liked very much . Many rooms have balconies from where one can enjoy Arati and good view of Ma Ganga.. Dont expect any room service as its a very budget hotel .Food was good , if ask in time they will prepare diner lunch breakfast . Rooms are clean newly renovated with false ceilling and all . But i think bed sheets should have been better same goes for towels. Also they dont provide any dental kits and all , so traveller will have to buy those by themselves. As i mentioned it is a good value for money stay in a fantastic location with old days charm.

I loved this place, the lovely helpful staff, the view from the big balcony (the Ganga !!!) with the large bed and comfy and the huge bathroom. The old style house, and the savoury breakfast. Nothing was wrong. Including the price ! And very very close to Assi Ghat where so many amazing things happen

Morning Arati of Assi Ghat can be witnessed from terrace garden. Location, space &. Budget is a rare combination in Varanasi. This was luckily turned out to be an exception for me.

Jitendra the manager is the best ! Helpful kind and knowledgeable. The onsite cook is brilliant, her kitchen is spotless and the home made yogurt is delicious. Between them they made my six week stay more than just comfortable. I felt safe and cared for whilst being right on the Ganga and able to walk into the heart of Assi Ghat and return to the peaceful front veranda of the Sahi River Guest House. The building once belonged to the King of a nearby principality, take a good look around for the quirky architecture and additions or modifications over the many years. This one is a gem.

This is not a luxury hotel, but it has an old world charm with character and friendly staff. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious, offering a good view of the river (if you request a river side room). My room was side facing, opposite the terrace - airy and full of daylight , it offered more quiet and peace. I highly recommend it!||The staff was very accommodating and helpful with providing local tips and assistance with arranging boat tour. Hotel restaurant offered tasty meals and one of the best thalis I've tried in India. Great location near Assi ghat with many delicious restaurants within minutes walking distance. All around, a very pleasant experience!

If you are looking for quality hotel, with staff catering to your every whim, luxury and comfort this is not the place for you. However if you are looking for a genuine experience in some comfort in a prime location this is the place to be. Located at the most southern ghat with a prime view from the balcony with easy access to the river, this is it! Our room had a double bed, bedside lockers, en-suite bathroom with hot water, and balcony overlooking the Ganges. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were very easy going, friendly, accommodating and helpful While the initial impression was not great, ( steep steps along a dark, narrow passage way with cows, dogs and their bodily functions littering the way and run down buildings adjoining) it turned into a wonderful experience ! The food was next to none,!!!!!!!!! All fresh, and need to be ordered beforehand ,served on the balcony terrace or the common room ( hostel type)
