The hotel looks good only in the photos they have posted on Google, but the reality is far from it. The location is not great, the property lacks quality, and the rooms feel more like those of a guest house rather than a proper hotel. The staff is also unprofessional and rude. The positive reviews on Google seem to be purchased because their ratings on Goibibo and other third-party platforms tell a completely different story. This hotel is nowhere close to a 3-star property, as they claim. We booked 10 rooms here, and they turned out to be the worst of our entire trip. The name 'Palace' is misleading, so don't fall for it. Check reviews on multiple platforms before booking. Highly disappointed! . . . . Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for responding. Just to clarify -- our concern was not about the lost room key or 1000 charge. On a trip where we were spending lakhs, such a small amount isn't even a consideration. We chose your hotel based on attractive photos and the "Assi Ghat" tag, but the experience didn't match. The hotel location is inconvenient -- vehicles can't even reach the entrance. The major disappointment was the unwelcoming and rude attitude of the front desk staff. No greeting, no courtesy -- it felt like guests were being tolerated, not welcomed. Interestingly, we stayed at a nearby 3-star hotel as well, and the difference was clear -- friendly staff, proper welcome, and even welcome drinks. That's basic hospitality, especially for guests arriving after long travel. We now know better. This was a one-time experience -- not to be repeated by us or anyone in our retreat network. We conduct 5-6 retreats in Varanasi every year and will be choosing better-located, more professional properties going forward. Thank you.

Disappointed with the Food and Service The rooms here are genuinely impressive--spacious, clean, and well-maintained. However, everything good ends there. The food experience was absolutely horrible. The quality of the food was shockingly bad--definitely not what you'd expect from a place that otherwise looks so polished. To make things worse, the stewards seemed completely untrained. They not only served subpar food but also tried to mislead us about what we were getting. It took over 2 hours to receive our order, and by the time it arrived, it wasn't even worth the wait. It's unfortunate because the rooms had us hopeful, but the terrible food and incompetent service completely ruined the experience. Definitely not recommended for dining.

The site of hotel is good, location is convenient, offering good views and easy access to nearby attractions. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. Everything is designed to make feel at ease. The convince of location is amazing everything you need, from local shops to dining option, is just short walk away. The overall experience was enjoyable . Truly felt like I was in a place that thought every details for its guest

I had a delightful stay at Hotel Rivera Palace! The room was not only good-looking but also exceptionally comfortable, providing a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were incredibly courteous and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. I was particularly impressed with the impeccable cleanliness of the room.While the hotel is a bit removed from the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, it's conveniently located very close to the Hanuman Temple and just a short 100-meter stroll from the Ganga Ghat. I highly recommend Hotel Rivera Palace for a comfortable and pleasant stay in Varanasi.

It felt like they didn't care about guests at all, maybe because of high demand. We were charged 5000 for a room initially, and for the same room, 7500 later. When I questioned it, the response was arrogant -- "Take it if you want, or leave it."||Totally unexpected behavior from a hospitality service. However, their support staff was polite and helpful -- the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. Room quality and service were not even close to what was promised.||Would not recommend unless you have no other option.

Location is close to the ghats, which is a major plus, but no way you can park at the hotel and you have to lug your stuff to the main road to get a cab. In short access is pathetic, location is good. The room we stayed in had many issues, 1) No real hot water. They seem to have a central water heater and the water never gets hot 2) no window in the bathroom and exhaust fan didn't work 3) Bathroom door could not be bolted. Other than for this, cleaning was sub optimal, there is a thick layer of dust in all the things in the corridor. The restaurant has four tables and becomes crazy if there is more than one family eating breakfast at one time. Overall, OK place to stay if you are short on funds. If you can afford better - avoid. I will not consider staying there again.
