RAHUL GUEST HOUSE

This is a budget hotel and should be rated as such. Location: it's a bit further away from the main ghats and around 10' walk from Assi Ghat, which was great for us, as it was a serene refuge from the busy center. Rooms: we chose a room with Ganga view and both the room and the view were great Cleanliness: could be improved. A bit dusty and not that clean sheets Staff: amazing and super helpful Extra bonus: the restaurant at the roof. Nice food, quiet and with river view!! We recommend it (ideally bring your own sheets) and would definitely revisit it!

Very near to Assi Ghat. Loved the place. The view from the place is just breathtaking. The view of Ganga is good. They serve good food too. The keep in mind small things! Kept mosquito repellent in the room! That was thoughtful! The place being far from the cacophony of the busy ghats of the Benaras, lets you enjoy the tranquility.

It's located on the farthest side of all the ghats. Varanasi is named after two rivers Varuna and Assi. In between these two rivers all the ghats are located. Assi Ghat is located at one end, towards the bridge connecting Ramnagar fort. Rahul guest house is a km walk away from the Assi Ghat far away from the madding crowd of Varanasi. Rooms are ordinary (around Rs 1000) but clean. One suit on the top floor is awesome and of-course a bit costly. The roof top restaurant serves reasonably delicious food on order.

Stayed there last month. Everything are good except location. Very far away from godholiya chawk. Car parking facility is there. No e rickshaw available and auto will change minimum 300-350 to reach chawk. Rahul bhai is very helpful and only reason that I will choose his property again.

We arrived late night, thirsty, tired, but they welcomed us with everything we needed at that time, without even asking for it, I will never forget this kindness! :) The guest are really friendly and helpful, we had a great time. The house is quite big, we arrived early summer so there were not many guests. Location is great, the first ghat is in walking distance. View is also amazing!

Liked very much my stay here for more than four months. Varanasi unfortunately affords very few places that have the combination I require: Nice room, quiet, view of The Ganges, friendly hosts & reasonable cost. My room was very nicely appointed with big bathroom with nice features & lighting. The neighbourhood is a 5-10 minute tuk tuk ride to attractions (20 minute walk to Assi Ghat) but I prefer this more tranquil 'suburban' location to the absolute chaotic insanity of the city centre especially for long stays. The host family is absolutely wonderful, helpful, kind & the entire staff is excellent. The restaurant is very good also with food delivery from local restaurants also with many options.

Recently I had stayed here with my families and friends.It's near to Assi Ghat and a peaceful stay, far from chaos of Dashashwamedh ghat is guaranteed if you stay here.Roof top restaurant is truly fantastic and we had our lunch there enjoying beauty of the Ganges.Food quality was awesome but a bit costly.Rahul is a very caring and energetic host.

I recently stayed at Rahul Guest House in Varanasi with my friends and had a mixed experience. The rooms and bathroom were decently clean, but the main issue was the lack of hospitality when we requested an extra blanket and water bottle. They refused, citing their policy, which was disappointing. Also the tv was not working. The guest house offers three types of rooms, with the cheapest ones feeling damp and poorly ventilated. However, the rooms facing the Ganges are much better in terms of comfort, ambience, and facilities, albeit at a higher cost. The rooftop seating area is beautiful, with a kitchen serving homely food. Guests can also use the kitchen to cook their meals. The rooftop provides a peaceful space to meditate and enjoy the view of the river and ghats. Although I found the property peaceful, the initial dampness in the rooms and a strange smell in the bathroom were concerning. Leaving the doors open for cross ventilation helped resolve these issues. The guest house is a bit far from the main ghats, which could be a downside for some. Overall, my stay was enjoyable, but the lack of flexibility and cleanliness issues with the blankets were disappointing.
