Moustache Hostel Varanasi

I wish there was an option to give 10 stars to this property. I stayed here for 2 nights in the Superior private AC room and the place exceeded my expectations. The service is very prompt and all the staff members Yash, Vikesh, Sunil, Mayank and others are a delight to speak to. It is located at a few steps away from Assi Ghat, has value for money (the room is actually quite big) and I even liked the food at the cafeteria. Budget-friendly, has many options and is delicious. Thank you Team Moustache Varanasi, I would definitely stay here again

I stayed at Moustache Hostel in Varanasi for two nights in the 4-bed girls' dorm, and honestly, it was such a great experience. The place has a super chill vibe--perfect if you're a solo traveler or just looking to meet cool people from around the world.||The dorm room was clean, cozy, and felt safe. Each bed had its own curtain (which I really appreciated for privacy), plus a personal charging point and light. Lockers were big enough to fit my backpack, and the room had AC, which was a blessing in Varanasi's heat.||The hostel itself is very thoughtfully designed, with fun murals, a rooftop hangout space, and common areas where people are always chatting, reading, or playing music.||The staff was super friendly and helpful .The location is also pretty ideal. It's tucked away in a quieter lane but still walking distance from the main ghats and old city.||Also, shoutout to the rooftop cafe-- lovely views, and the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring temples and alleyways.||If you're heading to Varanasi and want a budget-friendly, social, and clean place to stay (especially as a female traveler), I'd totally recommend Moustache Hostel. Would 100% stay here again!

I definitely recommend this hostel, the location is good and you can take enough rest here. The atmosphere is really relaxed. Sunil is a kind co-worker here. The rooftop is nice and please book a AC room for better experience. I am glad I stayed here.

Sunil was great! I loved my stay here. I travelled a a solo female and staying at this hostel was the best choice. I made great friendships and felt so welcomed. I would highly recommend to any solo female travelers. The location is very ideal. 5 minute was from the Ganges.

Love this place! It's first time I stayed in a hostel in India, and this hostel was more than awesome. Lovely people from hosts to helpers to the canteen staff. The check-in process and overall stay is super easy and the hotel staff know the city very well if you're completely unknown to the place. The environment of the city itself is great, but the common area is super cool to meet people too. I met a lot of great people. Also, Waaayy better than the "certified good hostels" across Europe and US.

I wish I could write a better review. But 20EU for a 8 bed dorm is just way too much for what you get. Other guests and staff were acting reckless in the dorms, keeping everyone awake at night. Also loads of mosquitoes eat you alive in the common area and the rooms!! Stayed here for 4 nights and didn't get a single good night of sleep... the chillout area and the food are quite nice but there is no hostel vibe at all. Also there is random people sleeping in the common spaces all the time which feels kinda weird. Only 2 bathrooms on each floor (for like 30people) which are the showers at the same time is just not enough! Constantly had to wait very long just to get into a completely wet and dirty bathroom full of hair on the ground that had no toilet paper anymore. The henna service they offer is good! The location is in a quiet side road which I liked but its quite a walk to the main ghats from there. Staff at reception is nice and tried and switched my room but the situation stayed just as bad so I really can not recommend this hostel if you want some sleep.

The only great part about this hostel is that it is located at the heart of the city. Most of the touristy places are close from the hostel. The staff is helpful and sweet. However the hostel is not very well maintained... The washrooms are not clean, the kitchen is very dirty, if you happen to see it from the inside you may not be able to order anything from there. A friend of mine who already had stayed there had given me that heads up. Overall, I am not sure if I can recommend this hostel. You can definitely find better hostels in Varanasi than Moustache.

Great hostel, helpful staff and a good vibe. There's a common area with a cafe (good North Indian food/drink) which is great for socialising. Great location - a quick walk to Assi Ghat and good restaurants around. If you're really concerned about cleanliness then don't stay at hostels, especially in India. Otherwise, come prepared with a sleeping bag liner and pillow case just in case it's required.
