Surya Hotel in Cantonment, Varanasi, is a fantastic venue with a lot to offer. The location is excellent--easy to access and well-connected, making it convenient for guests traveling from different parts of the city. The interior decoration is tasteful and elegant, creating a warm and welcoming vibe. The hall is spacious and well-maintained, with efficient air conditioning that keeps the atmosphere comfortable, even during large gatherings. The food is impressive--flavorful and well-prepared, with good variety. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and ideal for guests staying over for events. It's a great place to host cultural functions and social gatherings. The ambiance, facilities, and service make it a reliable choice for memorable occasions.

Stayed here on a short trip to Varanasi and was satisfied with the overall experience. The property may look dull on the outside, but once you enter into the main gate, the whole layout and architecture of the courtyard are appealing enough to instill a feeling within you that you did pay for a beautiful accommodation. Since it used to be a property of the King of Nepal, the interiors and exteriors do have a royal touch and vibe to them. The food at their restaurant was delicious, prepared very well, and constituted a mix of various cuisines. (I've posted a detailed review on their restaurant's dedicated profile) The spa is pretty good too, and if you're staying on the ground floor, by the same lobby as that of the spa (like I did), the fragrances emanating from the spa are enough to make you feel relaxed and calm, every time you pass by. That, in itself, turned out to be an unexpected highlight of my stay over there. Just walking through this lobby felt therapeutic. Now, coming to the rooms, well, this is where I have to take a star away from the review. The walls were a bit dilapidated, with wallpapers coming off across random sections of the room. However, the most annoying thing about my room was the presence of 100 mosquitoes! When I phoned the reception desk to get a mosquito net or an electric racquet, they instead brought a can of mosquito repellent spray. Normally, I wouldn't mind it, but it was 10 in the night, and I was about to call it a day, and I see them bringing a spray can (whilst knowing that it takes an hour or two to fully get rid of its foul smell from the room), did they really think this was the most intuitive solution at this hour? So, after that letdown, I had to manually declare war on the mosquitoes before I could finally go to bed. Aside from this, I don't really have any other complaints, and so, I could say that I had a decent experience staying at this hotel.

With separate living quarters for everyone and a cozy lounge area, we found ourselves spending most of our time together in comfort. Dining Experience The hotel offers two restaurants, both of which were impressive, with the downstairs one standing out for its ambiance and menu variety. However, the breakfast selection could use some improvement. While the South Indian options and eggs were well-prepared, a wider range of non-vegetarian dishes and more live cooking stations would enhance the experience significantly. Ambiance & Amenities The greenery and outdoor spaces added a refreshing touch to our stay, creating a peaceful atmosphere. However, one aspect that could be improved is the lighting in the living quarters. In some areas, it felt a bit dim, which slightly affected the overall comfort. Service & Hospitality One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service. The room service staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, treating us with warmth and hospitality that felt like family. The reception and front desk were equally helpful, providing valuable local insights that made our visit even more memorable. Final Thoughts Overall, Hotel Surya, Kaiser Palace offers a wonderful blend of comfort, service, and ambiance, making it an excellent choice for families. With minor improvements in lighting and breakfast variety, it has the potential to be an even more outstanding stay. We would certainly consider returning for another visit.

Most warm and hospitable staff. They are all very helpful. Shukla ji was always available for us. We went during Poorna Kumbh time. But they all supported very well. Rakesh driver was very knowledgeable about Varanasi and took us everywhere we wanted to go. I'll certainly come back to this place again. Easy booking and easy check out. Value for money stay.

We stayed here two nights and felt like the rooms need alot of renovation. Broken marble in the bathroom, old cupboards that needed fixing, mould etc...it felt like the hotel had concentrated on maintaining the restaurant side of the complex but have left the rooms. At breakfast there were not enough spoons and bowls for the buffet. Many people were waiting. Good selection of western and Indian food. Refillable water which was good. The lady in the shop was very friendly.

The hotel room was nice yet small. The balcony was only 1 foot wide where you can only stand. The campus and location was excellent. There was a marriage party that made disturbing noise till late. The morning breakfast spread was excellent. The price was optimal. The location was excellent with a park nearby. The service and the staff was very nice. Strongly recommended at this price, 5.5k inclusive of breakfast for two.

Stayed at Hotel Surya, Kaiser Palace in Varanasi, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel has a beautiful heritage charm, with well-maintained architecture and a peaceful garden area. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though some areas could use a bit of an upgrade. The staff was courteous and helpful, especially at the front desk. The breakfast was decent, but there's room for improvement in terms of variety and quality. The location is convenient, about 15-20 minutes from major ghats and attractions.
