Hotel Ganga Monastery

Requested booking for 4 nights and it was confirmed by the hotel. Advance was given as per their demand. In receipt it was mentioned 3 nights. Immediately requested them to make necessary corrections. It was noted with affirmation by hotel. But on 3 rd night all senior citizens were told to vacate all rooms by morning and they had to. It was very unprofessional and highly unreliable to book rooms specially for senior citizens.

We checked in the hotel in the month of Dec 2024. We booked 2 rooms. One of the room had the view of river Ganga, while the other one was damp and dark, with no view. The room did had an window but it opened to the backside of another building, thereby making the room suffocating and had no resemblance with the photo of such room as uploaded in booking.com. Both the rooms were smelly. The room service was was too poor. You have to wait for ages and remind the staffs endless time, simply to procure a bottle of water. The staffs were always designing how to eke out your hard earned money. Even if you ask for RO water, they will bring mineral water and try to draw the charges for RO water. If you want to have dinner in their restaurant, oneday they will say that they take orders till 10 pm, while on the next day at 9.20 pm they will refuse to take order. Moreover the food they provided was of average quality, but charged exorbitantly high as compared to Luvkush restaurant located near Raja Harishchandra ghat, which provides better food at one third price. The balcony they claim is actually shared one with all other inmates of the hotel. The check out time, as shown in booking.com is 12 noon, but they continously poked us to vacate the room from early morning and finally forced us to leave our room at 11 am. The three positive aspects to mention are great location, providing you a calm and peaceful ambience, which is hard to get in benaras, secondly the view is awesome, providing the view of entire cityscape of benaras and finally the furnitures in the hotel will give a feel like staying in an ethnic haveli of benaras. Overall not recommended absolutely

The only advantage of staying in this hotel is you are away from all the trafic and chaos of Varanasi. You can see the river from your window or balcony. The rooms are ok and decorated. However, do not expect any service from the hotel and stuffs. Even getting proper breakfast and dinner is difficult, forgate about other service like regular room cleaning and toilet cleaning. TVs are not working properly. If you book cab from hotel it will be added headache for you. Beware of stuffs who are ready to scam you every now and then.

The Rooms were located on the Bay of Maa Ganga, but unfortunately the even by booking for 3 persons with a Bed, we were provided only a Doubled bed. Staff was horrible, we lost some of the things during the stay..!! Tottaly not in fever of this place.

It's a three star Hotel in Varanasi. Don't expect five star .... It's a good place to stay for a couple of days. It's quiet and we recommend to book the rooms with Ganga view. They are spacious with balcony and the spirit of mother Ganga is passing by. The owner is a noble man and supportive. The staff is friendly. It is a place where we felt safe and welcome. Assi Ghat is only 5 minutes by walk. There we have found good places for breakfast and dinner because it's not served here. Our suggestion: with a little more focus on details the rooms could all be lifted up with another star... but it's Varanasi ... Love it or Leave it. We loved it!

We visited varanasi in first week December 24. After weekend there was no rush. Facilities were not so good. however hotel is at the best location and rush free but the way to hotel is narrow and always crowded. You will have a parking in front of hotel. Rooms: renovated hygienic but washroom are not up to the mark. There was no toiletry. Services: They don't have much specialty in food. They served toast and tea in the name of breakfast. So please do not rely on them, go get some banarasi taste. You can easily 200 mts walk to asi ghat and take a part in Ganga arti twice in the day. 4-5 am and 6-7 pm. Important- This is for hotel management, please stop serving low class food in the name of breakfast. As a UP people we are famous for our food and you guys are serving raw breads in breakfast. This is unacceptable.show some standards as guests will judge the entire state by your behaviour.

Place is right on the Assi ghat.clean rooms. Service can be improved. Restaurant is non functional. Very humble and cooperative staff except the restaurant manager who was rude and keeps pestering for buying sarees. The hotel has good connectivity. But on the one end of the Ganga ghats.

Hospitality A1! This place is near Assi ghat, hence the location is very youthful and at peace, which is unusual to find in the chaos of main city. The rooms very okayish, bathrooms could have been more spacious but the staff was very helpful. Even after we checked out of the hotel, the staff supported us through all means.
