We stayed here for 2 nights in a river view room with a large shared balcony overlooking the River Ganges. The room was spacious & comfortable. There was lots of hot water & the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was basic but freshly prepared. The view from the balcony & the roof top restaurant was amazing. The staff couldn't do enough for us & provided bottles of ice cold water as soon as we returned to the hotel after sightseeing. Yes it is a 15 minute walk down narrow streets but this was part of the adventure. The hotel arranged to pick us up from the airport & staff met us at the taxi & carried our luggage to the hotel. Varanasi is a spectacular place to visit & this hotel is in a great location

This was my second visit to Varanassi for many years. The Dwivedi hotel is conveniently located on the banks of the river Ganges. Travellers, be mindful that vehicle transfers will drop you 20 minutes slow walk from the hotel where you will need to navigate the small narrow laneways of Varanassi for the final leg...all part of the experience. Google maps works well. My riverview room had an enclosed balcony. The bed was huge, clean and comfortable. There was ample hot water in the shower. Although no security safe in the room for personal valuables, I felt the staff monitored the common areas adequately. The roof top bar has an open, extensive, uninterrupted view across the river. Perfect for those sunrise and sunset snaps. Breakfast - buffet/a la carte are offered on the rooftop. The service throughout the property was excellent and friendly. General maintenance of the property and rooms needs attention. Thank you management and staff.
This hotel is in a good location, has pleasant staff, plenty of indoor and outdoor space and great views from the river fronting rooms and terraces. Its shabby east facing roof top restaurant provides a decent breakfast, with proper coffee, served with a smile overlooking the Ganges. If weren't for the hotel's inexplicably sloppy housekeeping, (not for lack of staff) its tired decor and general underinvestment and lack of pride in its upkeep and maintenance, it could be so much nicer and wouldn't seem so overpriced. Disappointing but unsurprising as it is typical of so many hotels and guesthouses in India.
Very nice hotel in best location near Ghat and in old city. With terrace and view on Ganga River, and nice top terrace for breakfast and dinner. Very friendly and helpful staff. Had a really great stay!
This hostel/hotel is well positioned for the Ghats and the views from the river view rooms are good...that's where the good ends. The manager is the rudest man in charge of a hotel I've ever met... (actually maybe the rudest man I've ever met) ...we had correspondence three or four times by what's app the fortnight leading to our visit and an airport pick up was arranged, flight numbers etc. No pick up arrived at the airport and no message, telling us of any problem at any point. It was a very busy weekend with the kumbh mela, and MANY people getting to Varanasi. We found it incredibly difficult to get to Varanasi as first time visitors, especially with no warning and time to research and arrange an alternative. It was only due to kindness from others that we managed to get to the hotel at this crazy busy time... (this place is difficult to get to on a normal weekend). We called and messaged the hotel all the way to the hotel through the traffic to try and get some help and were ignored. ||The hotel manager didn't even look up from his computer when we arrived feeling very overwhelmed and upset. It was only when I pushed the subject in disbelief he reluctantly apologised and said there had been an accident, which was complete rubbish...all the staff were waiting when we arrived and all looked uncomfortable and embarrassed. How this man works in customer service I'll never know. A message or answering the phone is all that was required. Our room was ok, although one of the plugs was actually sparking from below the television so we unplugged
We were there in Varanasi during the Maha Kumbh, so as expected the floating population had multiplied. Probably because of this reaching the hotel from the location where we were dropped off by the car, was challenging. Hopefully this is not the case other times. View of Ganga from roof top was great, especially during sunrise. Closest ghats are Chausatti ghat and Rana Mahal ghat. The quality of food served was good. The staff were polite and service was prompt. 5 star for all the staff. Rooms and bathroom were quite spacious and clean. Cleanliness and tidiness in the common areas should improve.
We stayed in Kalesh Suite. The bed was very comfortable, it has a lovely terrace overlooking the Ganges, perfect for watching sunrise and relaxing in the evening. The manager and staff were very helpful, organised a boat trip and airport taxi. Would definitely recommend
Dwivedi Hotels Sri Omkar Palace is at excellent loaction just behind the Ghat and we can have a very nice view of the Ganga river from our rooms. Hotel Rooms are very clean and serviced by the boys are excellent. Food at the hotel is also very delicious.
