Diamond Hotel Varanasi

Travel in Varanasi is nerve racking in summer, so it felt good to come back to a cool and pleasant hotel room. Diamond Hotel has comfortable rooms, and a convenient location with ghats, saree shops, cafes and market nearby. The restaurant has some very good options in north Indian and Chinese cuisine. The buffet breakfast is excellent. The fresh Kachoris and jalebis served at breakfast were very good.|The hotel help desk provides assistance with travel and other queries. Though old, this hotel has only become better with time (this was my second visit after a long gap).

The rooms were quite spacious and location was also perfect i stayed here for 3 days and the staff was very helpful and professional also helped us get wheelchair for my granddad. Highly recommend

We had booked this hotel for one night through my local friend from Varanasi. We were travelling from Prayagraj to Varanasi and next day we have to catch the flight for Delhi. Due to heavy rush we had decided to go to Varansi by train and catched a special train from Prayagraj to Varanasi around 6 pm. We were supposed to reach at Varanasi around 8.30 pm but train was running very late due to extra stoppages on every station and many time to give passing to other trains. I was received a call from reception (Mobile no. XXXXX XX864) around 10.30 to check when we will reach at hotel. I told the guy that we will reach in the late night because train is running very late. I also checked with the guy whether it is possible to cancel the booking as we didn't have any idea about what time we will actually reach at Varanasi. The guy told me that the fare is not refundable and we have to make the payment of the complete amount. I told him that don't worry I have confirmed the booking through my best friend and you will get the money as per our deal. I called him after half an hour and requested him to arrange a pickup from the station which he refused blatantly. Then I again requested him about possibility to arrange some food for us but he told me to call Zomato frim the hotel for late night food delivery. We reached at 2 am in late night/early morning at hotel and called the guy but he didn't picked up our call . We request the guard to open the door and the guy was sleeping bear the reception area. I asked him for the room keys and complete the formalities but he was ignoring us. We were repeatedly asking him for the keys, suddenly he told us that he has cancelled our booking and given the room to some other customer. We were shocked to hear this statement from him and Argued with him but he didn't gave any attention to us. One second we thought to call the police but drop the idea because we don't had any written confirmation of our booking. I also asked him he had cancelled the booking he should inform us timely so we will plan our star near to railway station and not struggle to reach at hotel location in the late hours after paying tripple fare to Autowala ||I am traveling very activity from last 15-20 years but never had such type of bad experience. Meanwhile one guy came at the reception area and told him to open the gate as his relatives will arrive anytime in the hotel for check in. He had started completing booking formalities with him. The guy was highly unprofessional and because of his last minute denial we had to suffer a lot in search of another hotel in the mid night and also missed our next day flight.||We will never forget this bad experience with us.. baaki jaisi Bholenath ki Marji ....

The hotel was located in a place which was very hard to find. The customer service was not at all given, the staff had a problem with each other and started arguing loudly in my room. We had a long trip and wanted to sleep but we were interrupted with this drama. There's no respect for customer privacy. Rooms are not well equipped and we were provided with dirty and stained bedsheets and pillow covers.

Great location, will easily get tuktuk or auto to the Ghats and temple. Has a small shopping mall nearby. Round the night in-house food available. Ample parking space as well. The breakfast buffet was yum, but could improve in fruit juices.

Simply pathetic! I am really disappointed with the rooms and services they provided. Water logging in bathrooms, non-functioning of electric sockets, poor room service and list goes on. On the first day, I had a small argument with one of the restaurant staff due to poor service. We also had a small party here. After the party, they disposed off our expensive cake without even telling us. On the day of check out, they added extra bill of orders which we didn't even make. Mind you, all this can be afforded at exorbitant prices!

Stayed at Diamond hotel in November for 1 night. Hotel has been here for over 30 years so reliable and easily located. Location is great for access to Assi ghat, Lanka, BHU, Bhelupur areas. Staff was very helpful and polite. Mr Ajay at front desk was always ready to answer queries and help with hotel or Varanasi information. Buffet was quite good with North and South Indian options as well as continental items.
