I recently stayed at Tirthraj Stays, Jhusi, Prayagraj during my Kumbh Amrit Snan on Basant Panchami (3rd to 4th Feb). This is a homestay where you get an entire 3 BHK ground floor house, but my experience was not as smooth as expected. Pros: You get a private house, suitable for groups. The space is sufficient and provides basic amenities. Cons: Extremely High Rental Price: The per-day rental is 11,800, which is very high considering the services and property standards. Poor Road Conditions: The road leading to the property is under construction or poorly maintained, making accessibility difficult. No Caretaker Service: Unlike typical homestays, there is no dedicated caretaker available for assistance. Temporary Rental Setup: The property is leased by the operators only to rent out during MahaKumbh. Lack of Nearby Amenities: There are no shops or restaurants nearby, making it difficult to get daily essentials. Limited Food Options: You have to rely on Zomato or Swiggy for food, as there are no eateries around. Paid Assistance: They can help you with certain tasks, but only for an additional charge. No Tea/Coffee Facilities: There were no basic provisions like tea or coffee, which are usually expected at this price point. No Towels: Pls don't expect any towels, etc. in the bathroom here. Final Verdict: For 11,800 per night, one would expect at least basic hospitality services, better connectivity, and easier access to essentials. However, this homestay lacks key conveniences, and guests must manage everything on their own. Unless you specifically need a private space and are prepared to handle all arrangements yourself, this might not be the best value-for-money option.
