The Sofitel Grand

*Pathetic & Cheap* I stayed there on 28th August during my official tour at RLI.Booked via phone call. (1) Start with check-in: No nameplate available anywhere around hotel. No one available at Hotel during check-in.manager phone was in off-condition.After waiting for considerable period of time, one begger type looking person came and took me to my Room without any check-in formality. (2)Toilet sheet was broken and not cleared. Water pressure in tap is such a slow that it took 1 hours to fill my bucket.No toilet Rolls at all, which they didn't attend even after complaint. (3) During Evening, I asked for snacks they said kitchen not functional. Order via Zomato. They didn't provide dinner also. (4) In the night, Power gone & no generator or power backup. No one in the reception to receive ur call. (5) During checkout, Manager not available and not receiving call. Room attendant not aware of advance I gave. They call the owner and he is such a Rude ,mannerless & illiterate guy.He doesn't know the tarrif i fixed with his manager and insisting me to pay 1000 /- extra. Note: I had to stay for 4 days. I anyhow manage to spend the night and left in the morning and checked in other hotel. They charge hefty and giving zero service. I paid 3500/- per night. But let me tell you this hotel doesnot even deserve 750/-.

The location of the hotel is on the point. You would not have to struggle a lot, if you are new to the area or in Kanpur. You'll get easily connectivity. The room I stayed in was very lavish with nice view from the windowsill. They had all the room amenities present. We ordered room service and the food was really good. It had a home-cooked feel to it. They offer complimentary breakfast with the room. They have open banquet hall as well if you are looking for anything like marriage ceremony or paty valet parking available too. The owner of this hotel and the staff is very family friendly and way too good in there services Overall, I had a good experience. I mean good food, good room and good night's sleep, it checks all the boxes. Highly recommend if you're planning to visit Kanpur.

During my stay at the hotel, the rooms were very comfortable and cosy. I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The overall experience was wonderful, as their staff made me feel like a valued guest. The Sofitel Grand is a place where you can feel like home away from home.

My experience was homely, as I was invited to a cousin's engagement and I am not from Kanpur but I really liked the concept of it. The vibe is was really good. It was like a party place to us for 3 days and all of us really enjoyed the place. For any kind of requirements or issues we faced were resolved within 5 minutes and that said a lot about how committed the hotel was to satisfy us. Hoping to visit soon!
