Shivoy Hotel

Had held my reception at the banquet hall at Shivoy Hotel, and had booked a few rooms as well. The event went excellently, the food and service was fantastic, and the rooms were very comfortable and luxurious, especially for the price at which we had access to it. I would like to thank the owner Mr. Sheo Pandey who helped us throughout to execute our event and stay wonderfully.

Excellent hotel, fabulous food, rooms and service- which makes it the best place to stay if you're visiting Gorakhpur. Held our reception there and was treated like royalty- already looking forward to our next visit!

Since inception of hotel Shivoy, this was my third stay at room 506 for one night. The stay was extremely comfortable, with bath tub and outstanding facilities inside the room and equally commendable room service. Hotel Shivoy is the only hotel in the eastern part of UP which could be considered above 5 star rather is preferred as one above five star. The cotton towel had weight of approx 5kg. I consider this as unique for bath facility. One must give a chance to avail such facilities while going to Nepal or Kushinagar and even for border districts of Western Bihar.

First, I stayed at Shivoy for about three weeks and would stay here again, however this is firmly a three star hotel. With the rooms and their cleanliness varying accordingly. When I first arrived they put me in a room with noticeably dirty sheets and no safe. As this was not an expensive property, I was not that demanding, however clean sheets and duvet and a safe are necessary for a room. When I threatened leave and asked for a refund they told me they would provide me with a safe to secure my goods. And the next day they shifted me to another room which had a safe and was moderately cleaner. The sheets given were new and the cleaning staff was absolutely wonderful. I was very thankful for Ram and his daily check-ins. Now I think it's appropriate to do pros and cons of this establishment. ||Pros: It's decently priced and the rooms are spacious. Hot water did not seem to be much of an issue. It's located in the center of town. The food is FANTASTIC. ||Cons: it is in need of updating. The couch in the room is seriously stained, the windows aren't sound proof and because it's in the center of town, earplugs are a constant necessity. The front desk staff seems to know very little about attending to foreign guests or even how to enter in information from foreign passports. The internet is the largest downside. There is some antiquated system when every time you leave the hotel or the power goes (which is often) the internet resets. This means you have to have papers with names and passwords that only last a very limited time and you constantly have to call down for them to send more. It's honestly the oddest way I've ever experienced. ||Final thoughts, if you can get the rooms for a good price it is worth it, otherwise I would suggest one of the many other newer hotels in the city.

It was very nice experience at shivoy. It was a business meeting and the service as well as the behavior of the hotel staff was very good, also the reception was quite helpful to the people. Many functions were going on in the hotel and the staff was managing it properly the atmosphere was good and there is cleanliness in the hotel. The sizeof bathrooms was quite small as compared to the party hall but overall it was clean and neat. The only problem was there with the parking., very less area for parking is available and many vehicles were parked on the roadside the staff was not available to help people to get their car parked.

I stayed in a Suite catagory room. The room was quite spacious. They provide complimentary shuttle service. Also the breakfast is complimentary. The hotel is suitable for the people in business trip due to its location.

I attended a Tilak ceremony, and the service was very poor. We had to ask multiple times for refills, but no one listened. Additionally, the room was not clean, decoration was outdated.
