Dudhwa Wilderness Camp, beats all expectations when it comes to a stay while aiming for a wildlife safari. And when it comes being the only place to stay close to the reserve (actually right besides it), usually the management takes the liberty of offering the bare necessities, however like I said the Dudhwa Wilderness Camp beats all expectations - not just the rooms are comfy and the property thoughtfully planned, the whole place reflects of tasteful selections and planning. We stayed for a night, and right from the bonfire to the food, everything was super. The menu was discussed nicely upfront and the kitchen staff made it tasty and timely. Mr. Rehman, the owner, constantly and effortlessly manages the execution to the finest details, commendable. Besides the stay, all the arrangements for the safari are arranged and planned by Mr. Rehman, the vehicles come to pick up right in front of the room door.

Visited between 4-5 March after having read about Kishanpur for many years and even passed it while visiting Dudhwa on previous visits. ||The camp is located superbly at the edge of the Sanctuary (Only a service road separates you from the Jungle in front). There are fields on three sides but you would never know it, since the entire place is curtained by Bamboo from the outside world. The Rooms are very clean and well and simply furnished, and remain cool during the heat of the day, and nice and fairly warm in the chill of the night. The Staff were lovely and courteous and know their jobs in case the owners or manager is absent. ||The Dining area is very nicely designed with a thatch roof. Overall the camp is also a great habitat for resident birds and butterflies as well with the trees, plants, small wheat field in place of the garden behind the room.||It made a huge difference that they are located within only 1 km from the gate and 3.5 km from Jhadi Taal (the main water body Marsh in the sanctuary) and thus allowed us to spend a good amount of time watching wildlife and birds without having to race in and out as is done in many other places where the really good wildlife zones are too far deep inside. ||In 2 days and 4 safaris we saw 117 species of birds, Loads of Barasingha, Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Hog Deer, Barking Deer and a beautiful exclusive sighting of a Male Tiger on our second safari. ||I thank Suresh Chaudhry jee (The Owner) and Fazlur Rehman ji (The Manager) and the wonderful staff and our wonderful guide Kishan for their hospitality and knowledge and help in making our trip a memorable one. Would highly recommend the amazing Green chutney made from local ingredients which they served us during breakfast and thereafter on popular demand. ||Will be back soon for sure.
We stayed at the Dudhwa Wilderness Camp for just one night, but we enjoyed it thoroughly. A friend, who visits Dudhwa often, had suggested the place. Firstly, there is nothing around besides a few fields, so for a city-dweller like me, the calm and quiet of the place was unbelievable. The manager, Mr. Suresh Chaudhari, was a gracious host and looked after all our needs and demands.||||But the best thing about the place was the simple, let delicious, food. We were left licking our fingers after every meal.||||I have worked in the hotel industry, and hence know for a fact that looking after an extended family of 11 is not an easy task. But Mr. Chandhari and his men gave us no chance to complain.||||P.S.: We were even lucky to get a glimpse of a tiger on our second of the 2 safaris that we did.
Dudhwa Wilderness Resort, commonly known as Barasingha House, is a place which offers an experience unmatched by none. The place is situated at the edge of Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary and has a beautiful ambience. As soon as you enter the place you become a member of the Barasingha House family. |||The owner of the establishment, Mr Suresh Chaudhary, is like the head of his family, taking care of the guests like family members and catering to all their needs.||The food is really great. It's like eating at home. The staff is very courteous and attentive. Thanks Mr. Brijesh for all the help and guidance in the forest. My son became so fond of the place that he didn't want to return.||The place has a small garden where you can see a large variety of beautiful birds and butterflies. I have seen the water hen, koel, babblers, coucal, grey hornbill and parrots. The pair of owlet was the show stopper at the resort.||There is also a pond full of water hyacinth and the whole surface is spread with a sheet of flowers, which looked very picturesque.||Overall the place is great and I will look for another stay in there in future.||Thanks to the team of Dudhwa Wilderness Resort for the memorable experience.||Vineet Kumar
Recently visited this property with my friends. This quiet place surprised me with edge of the forest- location , awesome food and courteous staff that pampers you. It's proximity to the sanctuary gate for game drive is an added advantage. |A highly recommended place for anyone who is wanting a quiet time with family and also for wildlifers.
The staff here can't do enough to help you from picking you up at the station and dropping us back at the airport. The food was plentiful and of a good variety. Our rooms were just that several rooms and a roof terrace what more could you ask for.
