The Orchid Retreat

My recent experience at The Orchid Retreat in Agra was truly excellent. Its location is a significant advantage, being conveniently near the magnificent Taj Mahal, which made visiting the monument incredibly easy. From start to finish, my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The service provided by the hotel staff was also noteworthy - they were attentive, helpful, and really contributed to a positive experience. In particular, the owner was exceptionally helpful, and their behavior was truly remarkable, making me feel very welcome and well-cared for. I was also particularly impressed with the food, which had a wonderful, homely quality. It was a refreshing change and genuinely delicious. The overall atmosphere of The Orchid Retreat was very welcoming, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Agra who values a great location near the Taj Mahal, excellent service, a helpful and exceptionally well-behaved owner, and delicious, home-style food. I look forward to the possibility of staying there again in the future!

Had a Wonderful experience at the little orchid home stay. The rooms are very modern and well provided for although a little bit of maintenance like the de-calcification of the shower head would have improved it further. Service was top notch and Vikrant is really helpful in providing us with recommendations on how to plan our itinerary and suggestions on how to not fall for some of the common "scams" in Agra. Really appreciated the complimentary bottled water and newspapers provided daily. The best thing which made me gave it 5 stars is the food! If you stay here please don't look anywhere else to try some really good home cooked Indian food. Expect for two occasions we always ate at the home stay. The food is delicious, hygienic and not expensive at all. We got the room with the "garden" view which had a view to the park near by and was very quiet. You could hear the birds sing in the morning. Overall totally recommend this lovely home stay!!

We stayed here for about couple of nights while on a tour of northern India. We arrived quite early at the morning having taken a night train from Varanasi. The night before we travelled the owner reached out on WhatsApp to us and confirmed arrival time then arranged for rooms to be ready for us when we got there - much appreciated. ||The family who run the guesthouse are lovely and friendly and are genuinely interested to talk to you. They provide bottled water from the fridge which is welcome and are full of suggestions and even saved us money by putting us in touch with another traveller who was heading to Fatehpur Sikri the same day as us so we could share a taxi.||Food was lovely too - we had food here a couple of times and it was delicious and served on the landing just outside our rooms. ||The rooms were comfy and large with views over a park at the rear of the property. Mainly quiet with a bit of noise during the day when the park was being used. Shower was fine (though my friend said his needed descaling to improve the pressure). ||The district this is in is walkable to the Taj Mahal and also to cut across to the metro line where you can get a lovely, empty, air conditioned train to the Fort or railway station. There's also a few other cafes etc. in the local area if you want that. ||Overall, I'd be recommending this to friends and family who visit Agra in the future.

The Orchid Retreat in Agra has been the best accommodation we've had so far on our trip! It's a beautiful, family-run place, and we had the pleasure of meeting the whole family - everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming, and friendly. Even the family dog was an absolute bonus and made us feel even more at home! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the whole atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. We were also able to order food directly at the retreat - it was super affordable and absolutely delicious. We ended up eating there multiple times because we enjoyed it so much. What really stood out, too, was how helpful the family was. They gave us excellent tips for visiting the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, which made our sightseeing experience even better. We truly felt like guests, not just customers. We can recommend this place 1000%! If you're visiting Agra, don't miss staying at The Orchid Retreat - it's a true hidden gem.

It was a spectacular stay! The owner was so attentive, helpful and a real breath of fresh air (actually caring for foreigners and their experience with ethical considerations and heartfelt advice). The room was super cozy and we absolutely loved home cooked delicious meals that you can order just outside your room in a beautiful dining area. |We couldn't recommend it enough! And of course how amazing is to be able to WALK straight to Taj Mahal in only 15min

It was an exceptionally great and memorable stay at Vikrant's Orchid Retreat on my visit to Agra with family. We were welcomed warmly with great respect by host's family and offered us room before check in time, since we arrived early in the morning. Offered room was clean and neat with all latest amenities. The homely food served to us was so delicious and hygienic. Staff at the home stay was very kind and helpful. A reasonable and safe transport arrangement was offered to us by Mr. Vikrant on our complete stay which was very helpful to us for visting all the beautiful monuments there. Mr. Asif the driver for our transport was very kind and helpful to us. I highly recommend this stay to everyone who visits Agra for holidays.

During my recent stay (with family) at The Orchid Retreat in Agra, I was impressed by the exceptional hospitality and comfort provided. The property's prime location, just a short walk from the Taj Mahal, made it incredibly convenient for early morning visits to this iconic monument. Property is in a residential area, its peaceful location and escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The rooms are spacious, clean, and with modern amenities. I appreciated the comfortable bedding and the well-maintained bathroom facilities. The best thing that we liked was home-cooked meals prepared by the host's family. The hosts were exceptionally warm and accommodating and helpful. Properly located is at prime location, walking distance (1.3 km) only.

Beautiful, family-run place with clean and comfortable rooms. The food offered is super delicious and affordable. What really stood out, was how helpful the family was. They gave excellent tips for visiting the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Furthermore, we had a medical issue and had to go to the hospital in the middle of the night - without hesitation Vikrant helped us organizing and accompanied us to the hospital. My wife and I recommend this place 100% and will stay here again if we ever visit Agra again!
