The Castle Inn Hotel

Call & Lois Came down to breakfast and was immediately greeted by Lois which was lovely first thing in the morning, the place was busy but under control which was excellent to see, I made my own mini breakfast before my big breakfast came out and it absolutely did not disappoint! Was hot and very nicely prepared, I thanked the chef on the way out for an job well done and made the best start to my day. Good value, Good vibes and lovely food Can't ask for more.

I booked a table for 6 of us and advised my mother was disabled did they have disabled access. Now you would think knowing this that some thought into seating would have been made. We were shown to the largest room which had no other guests in and directed to a corner. I asked if there were any other tables as it was the furthest point possible from where we came in and lacked any atmosphere. I was informed no as he had to set the room up for mothers day, so not only were we going to be in this large room by ourselves but also would have furniture being moved around us. I voiced my discomfort at this and was told there was another table but the table we were meant to have the guests hadn't left. We were shown into another room, small room with a table with 3 chairs around it, so I guessed this was the table he meant, had to find 3 more chairs and once seated the other guests left so we moved onto this larger table. Not once did a member of staff come to assist, food was pleasant but service was zero. Not once did we see a waitress to get more drinks or check our food was ok. This was a celebratory lunch for my dad's 85th birthday! Disgusting service! Would not recommend or be going back there ever again. If you can't accommodate paying guests then don't allow people to book!!

The meal we had was delicious, the service was fabulous and everything was really great value. Nice clean bedroom, and a beautiful sunny garden. I cannot fault the Castle Inn and would be delighted to recommend it to anyone. The barman went above and beyond to make us feel like special guests.

* Overall pleasant stay. |* Staff were very helpful about changing our room to accommodate a disability, and the new room was modern, quiet and efficient, with good sizeable shower but with very small and crowded washbasin.|* Bed slightly high for convenient use -- we are past the age of climbing into bed!|* Pleasant outdoor terraces (main hotel and outside our 'cottage' room for evening drinks|* Elvis tribute evening was fun.|* Breakfast on our second day was extremely slow (45 minute wait after we had arrived!), short of menu items and cooked breakfast was not great quality when it arrived. Server did her best in very difficult circumstances. |* Coffee offer needs to be radically improved: a hotplate jug is not up to modern standards and the only decaff was instant sachets and very poor.

We had a very pleasant, one-night stay at the Castle Inn Hotel, set in a beautiful part of rural Sussex. We also had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant. The king size bed was very comfortable and the ensuite bathroom clean and well equipped. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and even permitted an early check-in to enable us to freshen up before attending a local event early in the afternoon. Nearby (1m) Steyning is well worth a visit.

Fabulous venue and we stayed in the garden room which was spacious and comfortable. The twin beds , however, were rather narrow unfortunately.|The heating was efficient and an ironing board, iron and hairdryer were all available if required in the light, clean and pleasant room.|The shower was delightfully spacious however the actual electric shower was extremely difficult to set the preferred temperature. One minute too cold and the other rapidly changing to unbearably hot! The pressure was very weak too.|We enjoyed a Mother"s Day lunch and it was tasteful and well presented but the inclusion of stuffing with turkey would have been welcomed. |Breakfast having been advertised as fabulous was somewhat disappointing,. There was no fresh fruit and the orange juice was of inferior quality. The avacado on toast definitely skimped on the avacado! The coffee was excellent however.|The staff were friendly and attentive and despite a few negatives we would definitely stay there again, especially if improvements were made in certain areas mentioned!

We stayed in room 3. Spotlessly clean, spacious, modern and very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Pleasant and helpful team. There is a lovely curry house next door which was great as we arrived late and missed dinner. ||Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

8 of us stayed here for one night, and you could not fault it, had a beautiful meal in the restaurant and plenty of walking to do around the area. staff went above and beyond to make sure we all enjoyed it. definitely going back.
