Such a lovely place for a few days away. Would loved to have stayed longer. The garden is a hidden treasure with lots of seating and we loved the pool. Gorgeous walks eveywhere. Enjoyed breakfast at truffles and dinner at The white horse |We will be back

Very nicely located in the heart of Steyning, walking distance up on to the South Downs Way, with a lovely climb up to Chanctonbury Ring, etc.|We had the 'Treehouse' room at the back, with shower (no bath): two single beds put together to make an ample king size. A comfortable enough room, away from the traffic noise at the front. Fresh milk provided, and biscuits too!|The very friendly and helpful Pip welcomed me with coffee and cake even though i'd arrived early, and let me store my bike in their shed. There's a lovely lounge for residents' use and a pool table too.|Worth noting that they don't offer breakfast, and (contrary to some write-ups from the past) there's no longer access to the large garden and swimming pool.|

The photo on trip advisor does not do this lovely little place justice. I would have skipped over this place if I hadn't already stayed there some years ago. The rooms are delightful - beautifully decorated, clean and very well looked after. We've stayed in two different rooms and both were lovely. The bathrooms are excellent. The beds very comfortable with lovely linens. Pretty curtains and a lovely building - can't fault it.||We went during the heatwave and it doesn't have any aircon - totally acceptable in this period building! What it does have is a lovely garden - so prettily done and - main reason for coming back during a heatwave - it has a lovely little open air swimming pool with sun loungers and chairs. Two afternoons were spent sitting in the shade and reading with our cups of tea and biscuits (left in a jar in the room and gratefully received too!).||Sadly it no longer offers breakfast, nor does it have a bar which it used to but there are plenty of places to get breakfast and tea and coffee facilities with lovely china mugs in the room. A couple of pubs in the village of Steyning which has such a gorgeous, proper high street to wander through.||We spent the days on Lancing beach having bacon butties at Perch on Lancing Beach, ice creams from there, lunch and dinner. A wonderful place if the weather's lovely.||We spent a wonderful two night break here to take advantage of the last days of summer and had a great time. Highly recommended.

It is a charming, spacious house and very welcoming. We stayed there for 3 nights in a lovely room (cottage style decor). The House is 5 minute walk to the centre of the village - very close to some lovely english pubs! Liz and Philippa made us very welcome. The garden is a treat not to be missed and the swimming pool looked very inviting. Steyning is one of the most beautiful places in England and worth the visit.

We stayed for a night whilst walking the SDW, so glad we did. The welcome and service throughout our stay was so friendly, really helps make the place. The room was lovely, well appointed and clean. Really nice touch to have a mini fridge with fresh milk and chilled water. The place has beautiful gardens with so many varieties of flowers and colours and having walked many miles to get there the heated secluded swimming pool was like a little oasis for us - really enjoyed our swim. The variety and quality of food at breakfast was superb and just reflected the high standards of this place. Probably our favourite on the walk.

I booked for my husband and friends to stay the night before and after our wedding. Everybody was so lovely and welcoming it really helped to ease the stress of the day! The rooms are lovely - I really recommend the four poster room if you want a treat. The gardens are stunning and the pool was a brilliant addition especially as we where so lucky with the weather. Breakfasts where included in the room price and there was a great selection that catered to all our needs, we had vegan, vegetarian, gluten and lactose free in our party. Over all I would really recommend staying here if you are visiting the area.

A truly lovely place - and the complimentary glass of Prosecco at check-in was a nice touch! Our room had been recently renovated, with an amazing bathroom! One of the nicest I've seen anywhere. The ladies on reception and breakfast were very pleasant. We had amazing porridge for breakfast, with beautiful views through the conservatory to the gardens. You will want to stay here!

Set in the heart of the picturesque town of Steyning, not far from Worthing, this outstanding B&B is set in a red-brick Georgian-style house set back from a relatively quiet road a few hundred metres from the town centre. The town is full of interesting independent shops and the best sweet shop I've ever been in, which has an excellent florist's at the back - perfect as we were visiting family we hadn't seen for 20 years!||Springwells accommodation is superb. We were made very welcome by one of many lovely staff, who couldn't do enough for us. All the rooms are spotless and of a very high standard - much nicer than a 4 star hotel and adorned with fresh flowers and tasteful furnishings. There are flat screen tv's and even one disguised as a mirror above the roll-top bath in our room, which also had a very comfortable four-poster bed (Mulberry Room). ||The gardens, where we had drinks from the very well-stocked bar several minutes after arriving are rambling, beautifully arranged and maintained - an absolute delight, with a swimming pool and table-tennis area hidden away at the top and several areas on the way up where you can hide away for private conversations or to meet other residents, which we did and made some good friends.||The hotel - it's too good to call a B&B - doesn't do evening meals but you are welcome to bring food back from a couple of very good places on town, or you can order through Deliveroo from a huge selection of restaurants in Worthing or Shoreham. We went to an excellent Italian Restaurant called Mamma Mia on the high street with our new-found friends and there is also a French restaurant called Chez Joel which has a very good reputation.||The breakfast was outstanding, served in a lovely airy room and conservatory. The menu - all cooked to order included the full English with a choice of any ingredient, including one of the best pork sausages I have ever eaten -- fresh orange juice and even kippers if that's your bag! Fresh flowers from the garden on every table.||Everyone was very Covid-aware and masks were worn by all the staff when going about their business and most guests when walking around, but obviously not at table.||If you are in that part of the country and looking for a gem - this is it. The bad news is that the place may be closing its doors from the end of September as the pandemic has taken its toll with weekday occupancy falling below sustainable levels. I would totally recommend it to anyone searching for a weekend - or weekday stopover.
