Foot of the Downs

Booked this trip as a surprise for my partner, and it was wonderful. We stayed in the Lapwing pod, which was cosy and very clean. The location is perfect for nature-lovers - stunning views, tranquil surroundings and green everywhere! They provided an information booklet that was very helpful, with info about hikes and stargazing. We also requested the BBQ and firepit pack, which was really lovely. The quality of meat was incredible, likely from a local farm, and the portion they gave was great value for money. Overall, the stay was incredible and we had an amazing time - will definitely be recommending to friends and family, and we will be sure to return in the future too!

We loved our stay in the Shepherds Hut- couldn't have asked for a better way to spend a long weekend! We went for several walks and tried the local pubs which were all excellent. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely like to come back and stay again!

What a perfect place to stay for a couple of nights (or longer!). Nestled at the foot of the South Downs on a quiet working farm, our pod had everything you could want for a short stay to make our time comfortable and enjoyable. Quiet, idyllic, cosy, welcoming. We will be back

Lovely location, totally serene, and with the most wonderful views of the downs. We saw deer playing in the fields behind, and pheasants every evening. Lovely walks all around. Totally recommended.

We loved our stay. Angela was really helpful and responsive both before and after our visit. The pod was well-equipped and clean. And the setting was wonderful. Waking up to the quiet and just a flock of sheep for company! Our daughter loved endless wheelbarrow rides and eating dinner outside from the fire pit. A great break.

It was a great stay and the accommodation and location is fantastic. The only thing that is needed, is the prep knives are all blunt so was hard to prepare meals and their is only one glass for wine or beer. Two would be great. Otherwise everything was perfect.

Beautiful spot, perfect for lovely long walks, breathtaking views and just unwinding, waking up to the sunrise over the fields. The fire burner was the perfect touch for a cosy autumnal evening. We had everything we needed. The accommodation was very clean and loved the decor of the Shepherds Hut. Thank you for having us!

Absolutely lovely stay here! We took our 7 month old for a little staycation and Angela was wonderful from the start, making sure we had everything we needed and also reassuring us of all the amenities available (high chair, cot etc) and activities we could feasibly do nearby. The location of the huts is not only gorgeous with stunning views all around and some great walks/ wanders for different abilities but it's also really easy to get to from public transport as well. Highly recommend getting the supplies to cook on the fire pit and again, Angela was super helpful making sure we had delicious vegan options for both breakfast and dinner.
