I know that 'you get what you pay for' however, this was extremely average, with many problems. Not much choice ... but suited our needs at the time. My tip for travelers to Unakoti ... Stay in Silchar and drive to Unakoti carvings very early and return in evening

The rooms were not worthy of rent though. Yet, they were clean and okay for families and friends. AC, Geezer work properly. View is also fine. Common Balconies are there. Staffs were supportive.

Tripura govt stays are very decent but I was greatly dissatisfied with our stay here. The entire construction is old and falling apart. It needs an urgent renovation. We booked two AC twin rooms. It was 800 rs per room/day. When we checked in the rooms it was all smelling musty in the rooms due to rain. The dressing table and the table had dust over it. The AC for both the rooms had only one remote. There are pests all over the room, cockroaches are in abundance. The water that was provided while checking in cannot be trusted enough. However I had to drink it , because we had no choice. The bed was fine but the linens we're not proper, they were old and had been used many times. It is a budget hotel. But basic cleanliness and hygiene has to be there.

A good, possibly the only decent option in Kaalshahar near Unakoti. It's an old government facility. Rooms are spacious. But amneties are very minimal. They don't have a restaurant. But they cook whatever you order. Including meat and fish. Food was really delicious. It is better to have food in the lodge itself because no good optiond available nearby

it is government property designed beautifully but maintained dull. It can be a very good option for tourist if Tripura tourism give attention on it. No restaurant but still helper provided a decent veg food to us.

Not well maintained at all. No remote for TV and AC. Moderators of the fans had fallen off. You can't control the fans speed. No exhaust fan in bathroom make it stuffy. You can enjoy the view of Bangladesh boarder-the only good point. Beds are too small for 3 people. Only 2 single beds are seperated from each other. Food facilities are available but costlier from the market hotels, which are only 10 minutes walk from the lodge. Water filter is available for good drinking water.

We stayed here for a night after visiting Unakoti. The place is well located.Nice property. Rooms are big. But everything is terribly dirty. Luckily we were carrying our own linen. We were served food on time. Attention needs to be given to keep the place clean. If that's done, it will be a boon for visitors. Though there were no smoking boards, but no one bothers. This place a just a few meters away from Bangladesh border. the room doesnt look like shown in the pic.

The rooms are ok, not cheap, but the northeast part of India is not cheap.||The food is good, but fixed timings, even you are alone in the hotel, no chance to get food at an other time. It's maybe the best option to eat here than anywhere else in town.||Walking distance to the clocktower about 15 minutes. Not easy to find, you need an auto.
