Location||The property is located in the middle of no where and does not have cell phone coverage which is excellent if you really want to unplug and unwind. Given its not too close to habitation, you can expect to enjoy a really starry night amidst the bonfire which was also one of the highlights of our stay. ||Activities||We had gone there with kids and had been quite excited about all the activities mentioned in the website - coracle ride in the near by lake, jeep ride in the night etc etc. None of these activities were offered once we checked in and we were told that the jeep was not functioning and the lake was too dirty for a boat ride. I can accept that these things can happen but given I had a very detailed chat with the manager the night before booking the place, I would have really appreciated if these things were told to me in advance. I was specifically told about the mud pool that kids enjoy. It takes 2-3 hours for the pool to fill in and despite confirming the time we were going to get there we had to follow up multiple times with the care takers to fill the pool and then wait till the eternity for it to fill up! ||Food||Food was generally good but again given we had small kids and we had given them our specific time of arrival (12 noon), the food was not ready till around 2.30 leaving all of us quite famished. ||Value for money||Its not a cheap property (INR 6450 per couple per night) and I did expect a certain level of upkeep and service which I found missing. The rooms were all dusty when we arrived and we had to request them to clean them before using them. The bathroom flush wasn't working in our cottage (they fixed it once we brought it to their notice). But all these details, given the price should have been taken care of.

It was a family getaway that included an eight year old and 18 month old toddler. Visited during January end. It's indeed a great place to do nothing, relax, enjoy the views and spend some quality family time. All four of us liked the place so much that we ended up extending our stay to two nights. ||Our routine on both the days included a hike to the nearby hills followed by some delicious breakfast. The food tastes even better with the view of the hills in the backdrop. Breakfast was followed by some lazying around on the hammocks, playing with kids and waiting for the lunch :-). They do bonfire and barbecue in the evenings that keep kids busy.||It had all the ingredients of a typical Linger property - Great location, limited capacity inspite of sprawling properties, awesome local food, great hospitality, clean rooms and linen. Hence a five star :-)

Had such a lovely experience at the property! We stayed in the cottages and it was very clean on arrival. The caretaker and helpers around the property were very responsive. The food was accommodating to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Most of all the location is stunning. Will definitely visit again soon!

Earlier known as Bamboo Rustles nature camp, now it is known as the Tamarind Jungle Camp.|I had read all about its rustic surroundings and basic necessities available in the Camp before booking my stay.|It roughly takes 3 hours to reach the resort from Bangalore and it is in the middle of nowhere, literally. Beautiful location, complete privacy, and amazing food.|1-Room:|There are 3 cottages, huge ones. The rooms are in the form of mud-thatched houses. There is a king size bed, table, cupboard, mirror and luggage cupboards. The room is very well furnished. Plus they have a wooden stair where you can climb and sleep on the elevated bed built inside the room.|The washroom is very well furnished, however, the rooms were a bit dusty and had lizard droppings. |A bit of cleaning before guests occupy the room would have really helped.||2-Surrounding and location:|The entire camp is surrounded by hills which is provides excellent views throughout your stay. The camp area is clean.|The location of the camp is the best in terms of locations. It is completely isolated with hardly any vehicles, so you can always go for a walk outside the camp with hardly any people to be seen.||3-Food :|The food is simple and extremely delectable. They charge extra for non-vegetarian food. There isn't much variety of food.|In the evening, I was served pakodas, which was bought from an outside shop near the road and was cold by the time it was served to us. The food was always served on time and under the tamarind tree.|Even though barbeque is mentioned on the website, there were no provisions for the same.||4-Service :|The service is good and fast.||5-Activities:|The camp has some good activities. There was cycling in the camp, including other paid activities like night jeep ride, canoeing, etc. Not sure of the other activities, however, I did go for the canoeing activity. The inflatable canoe will be loaded in your car and transferred. They have one canoe which took a long time to inflate and could accommodate 2 people at a time. I had to wait a long time to finally get to use it. It is a paid activity. Also, the night jeep safari on the road is a paid activity. Since it had rained earlier in the evening, I forgo the idea of the evening jeep ride. Next day, I did go on the morning hike to the nearest hill.|They had a swimming pool-rustic style, but it was empty. They usually fill up the pool when they had large groups staying there. |There is the hammock under the tamarind tree.|The activities can be better managed, with more activities in the camp itself.|They have 2 adorable dogs in the property, very friendly. Also, during the night do carry torches, since there are snakes inside the property and I did see one.||A good place to photograph birds and butterfly species.

It was fun staying there... As we opted for tent option which gave us totally a new experience... I went with my family we were four ,2adults and 2kids... kids also had fun time there ... Food was good . barbecue with campfire and music was really nice to spend the time. Since we were there for star gazing event by camp monk watching the beautiful sky with a lot more star which we could not get to see in city life... Was awesome got to see Jupiter , Saturn, venus and mars through their telescope. Could work on no. Of rest rooms, maintenance of the place little more for more business.

This is a basic nature camp which apparently was earlier run by Bamboo Rustles and now leased and run as Tamarind Jungle Camp.||||Cottages are nice where we stayed. Option of having them set up a tented tent is also available which we did not use.||||Place is very basic and more of a camp than lodge. Food is simple rice roti sambhar and a vegetable. I wish we had taken our own barbeque .||||Place is setup in a great setting and very nice to chill at. We were very glad we read all the limitations on the website. Even though activities like trekking, kayaking and pool are listed - we were told that some of them were not available. Would recommend a god discussion with the manager about what food and activity is available before booking.

Caretakers were extremely accommodating to our requests. The property was beautifully surrounded by hills! The cottages were very clean. Will definitely plan another visit soon

Tamarind Jungle camp has recently become a Linger property and that's great as Linger.in has been running several properties and camps for several years.||||We stayed at the property recently and while the Linger team is still working on getting the camp to tip-top shape, the location and surroundings ae lovely.||||We had a great time relaxing at the property, enjoyed the simple meals.
