Udhayam Inn - Best Hotels in Velankanni | Best Lodge and Rooms in Velankanni

We were a group of 7 adults and one child on a recent pilgrimage to Velankanni and had a wonderful stay at Udhayam Inn. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the service was top-notch. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and quite filling. The kitchen staff also prepare lunch and dinner on request, which was very convenient. The hotel is located very close to the Velankanni Church, with autos readily available nearby. There's also ample parking space. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free. If you need alternate check-in/check-out times, it's best to contact them directly -- they're very accommodating. The staff were extremely helpful throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend Udhayam Inn and would gladly stay here again. My rating: 5/5

The rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained, offering a peaceful and pleasant retreat after a long day. The Inn's location was also ideal, providing easy access to the Velankanni Basilica and other nearby attractions. I wholeheartedly recommend Udhayam Inn to anyone seeking a genuine taste of South Indian hospitality, delicious local cuisine, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It is a perfect choice for travelers looking for both comfort and heartfelt service.

Had a 2 day stay here. it was simply awesome and beautiful. The room and wash room was very neat and clean. Provided Kettle, juice, coffee powder, water, etc with the nice ambience of the room. In the bathroom, essentials were provided. A compact and cozy room with AC was wonderful. Good service provided in Velankanni in other properties we had stayed before

Decent options for a day. Good clean rooms and ok service too. But they don't have the in house resturant. Suggest not to book hotel with free breakfast. No lift to the property so it might be difficult for elder people and the with lot of lauage.parking space might be an issue if it's in peak season.

A clean hotel overall with good services. Clean towels, white bedsheets, clean bathroom, rooms without mold and smell. The management has ensured that property is maintained well. The only reason for 4 star is that the shower in one of the 3 rooms we booked did not have towel racks or hooks to hang clothes. The water in the shower also had a black powder. The management could look to keep simple filters to avoid this. The staff was friendly and helpful. Will recommend to anyone going there with kids for a pilgrimage. It may not be too well suited for elderly as the facility has not elevators. All the rooms are from level 1. The hotel is about 1.2km from main church and 600m from the new church. It may not be suitable for babies and elderly to walk from the hotel.

Booked this room for one night stay looking at the ratings and positive reviews but was disappointed as we arrived there. Check in was quick but the entrance was so dirty with all garbage lying around. The room had cockroaches running around. There was no mirror and toilet roll in the washroom. No place to hand the towel & clothes in washroom. No water bottles kept. AC remote wasn't working. Stayed there just for 5 hours so managed somehow.

We booked a room with my family , when we came to check in, the owner asked how did you book the room? I said through agoda app, so he said the guys working there to give me the smallest room available as agoda will eat away all his profits, it was extremely embarrassing , absolutely pathetic experience.And the hotel is very costly, and is very far away from the church, it does not even have basic amenities like a lift, completely not worth your money.
