Hotel Rhea Park

1500 Rs for 24 hrs is a very good bargain. Forget the comfort. I just booked it because it was very close to the church

1.All room's are modified with new beds etc etc... 2.Hangers should be provide in bathrooms and living room. 3.The room cleaning staff should be replace.

No hot water, I asked them they are not response properly .

Hotels looks good from outside, Location also good. The service level is zero. They have agreed to provide room for 2 days and Valid ID also given. After I picked my wife and 1 year daughter to hotel, they were telling booking is there, I have to pay 3000/- extra to provide room from reception In charge. They thought I don't walk away with family. How ever I got good rooms near to that property. Looting money from people depends on human situation is not good.

Rooms are ok with adequate cleaning. But, drinking water, food, towel etc have been provided and as per them, those can order online only (May be because of my successful bargaining for lower price). Location is good as is just outside from the noisy & busy market and bus stand. Church is 500 yards away.

I booked thru cleartrip with an offer for single room. But they have only double bedrooms. Rooms are adequate and comfort. But the cleaning requires improvements. Dust and food particles are all over the room and in the bathroom. Complained to the reception and they cleaned immediately but still I felt uncomfortable to use the room. In the bathroom they have both Indian and Western type closet which rarely seen in hotels. Overall it's a nice stay for your budget... I paid 400 for the room through cleartrip but the standard price for non AC room is 700. I recommend this hotel for a quick stay...

Ours was just a day stay from 2.30pm till 11.pm as we had booked our return on the same train we had arrived on. Did get a small discount though cause I spoke to him in decent tamil (the small perks of being multilingual ;) ) . The fish thali we ordered was yum but overpriced at Rs. 200/-. Loads of rice but no fried fish. The hotel guy did not give us towels or napkins or sheets and when asked in the evening said that we should have asked him when we checked in and that they give all this without asking only in the AC rooms(!) What the Fish!! Anyhow, room was clean with a small LCD TV. Bathroom was ok with the Orissa pan and Western Throne too. So one could go high or low! They has Solar heated Hot water too. The fan was crazy noisy. They have a collection of various little birds in cages in the adjoining yard. This place is walk-able distance from the station which was the main reason we booked this place. And at a 2-3 minute walk to the Basilica too its a neat place away from the hustle of the main area. Although we had gone during a weekday (during School Exam time hence the absence of a crowd) and Velankanni was generally quiet and not at all crowded.

Its a lodge with air conditioned room. They provided the rooms even without cleaning. I felt ashamed for asking my parents to stay there. The price is too high for the quality. We have to pay the whole money in advance. Bed sheets provided are dirty. Staff is too arrogant in attitude. Didn't provide even toilet soaps. Wooden stools and cupboards. Don't book the rooms in rainy season, the roads are mud roads.
