Grace Palace

We stayed for few hours therefore we preferred a non ac room. The room was not up to tbe mark. It was very dusty and dirty. There was no hot water for shower and the flush in the toilet was not working. Also the we could not charge our phones as the sockets were broken. When we checked out the receptionist was asking for tips.

Very poor service. No Wi-Fi and no proper hot water, but they charged money.management don't know to speak. Full of ants in room. They used bad words for ladies. For ladies it's very dengerous. In front of mother Mary they are cheating.

Grace palace is located closely 500 mtrs from the velankanni church, the place has multiple types of decent rooms that would fit your budget, however due to a lot of people that stay here the place is lacking a little maintenance, they have both AC and non AC rooms, the terrace has view towards the church. The main staff is however the only one I found literate enough and quite open and friendly, the place has a kitchen where one can cook when with family or friends as it would save money from eating out, they have firewood stove and gas stove, firewood stove costs 80 to 100 for an hour and for gas it's 150 rupees for an hour, any utensils needed can be rented as well. The only thing that I felt bad was for the service, the cleaning staff that takes out garbage or any staff would blindly barge into room without knocking or informing, I don't know if that is how people do it over there, but people those travel from cities like Bangalore and so on are really not used to it and it is really an concern of privacy. Rest all the place is decent and also budget friendly. Any shop needed are right around you starting from clothes, groceries, juice bars, hotels, meat stalls/fish stalls and more. However note that they would ask you for an service fee at the time of vacating , but they mostly really don't clean up rooms until it's asked for, so if you have not availed the service you can politely refuse paying for the service.

It is easily accessible from church and beach. But the drawbacks are the impolite staff who are lazy in doing their duties. Firstly, AC didn't work and we spend 2 hours at 3 am in the morning when an admin was repairing the AC. After 8 hours of travel you have to spend time waiting for AC to be repaired. Secondly the heater in the room didn't work. Fortunately the climate was not so bad to make us sick. Thirdly no room service to clean your rooms. However much you pay for the room, you'll have to sleep in a dirty den. Not very good!

Very untidy place. Torn dirty Bedsheets. Filthy bathroom. Reached early morning and had no options. So slept only for 4 hrs. (Rs.2000) N changed to another hotel. Please avoid this sad experience. Unless u have no other option to take rest.

From one of my relative recommendation I booked room by phone call and as advance I paid Rs. 1000 but after the reviews I saw I want to cancel the booking, so called the answer is " the amount is not refundable," I lost thousand rupees by believing my relative words. So don't pay any advance to this hotel and don't belive there words

Hotel is very bad. Staff is not friendly. When we ask for something they just ignore us. Toilets are dirty and 24hrs leaking. Ac not working properly. Bedsheets and blankets smell very bad and stingy. Rooms are very dusty ward rob is very dirty. TV is sometimes not working properly. They told us there is 24hrs hot water but the hot water doesn't come 24hrs.

I lodged for a night in a Non AC rooms which was very untidy though they cleaned it for 30 min after booking. Bed sheets not changed, sofa full of stains and was sticky, teapoy covered with dust, spider webs all over the room and in toilet too. It was very disgusting.
