DJ Residency Velankanni

We had very bad experience at DJ Residency. They are exploiting the pilgrims with very exorbitant prices and no service at all. The rooms and service were even below normal standards. One of the rooms we booked had a bad odour and the bathroom was also not so good. Basic facilities like drinking water or bath towels were not provided. With rate so high as a three star hotel the facilities were very poor. The staffs were very rude and every time we had to ask for the facilities we paid for including tv, blanket etc. Even then the response was delayed and also rude. An extra blanket when asked for was not provided. We booked two rooms for two days (2000 per room)and the hotel said to give an early-vacate refund, if needed. But when we decided to leave a day early, they refused a refund and the whole 8000 was taken by them. When asked for a bill, they gave us a bill without a duplicate. When insisted, the manager shouted and asked us to call the owner. But the given number was not answered. On the whole the facilities offered were substandard. No services, including drinking water, were not provided. Kindly do not waste your money.

14/Jan/25 normal rooms with foam beds not clean washrooms N buckets geyser will be switched off you have to call and make it switch on they will say safety purpose... You may get better room if you pay bit more.. Visit check n book don't book with out visiting... Worst rooms

1. The stay was overpriced. 2. Rooms were not clean 3. Bed and sheets had stinky smell. 4. They dint even provide the blankets to sleep. 5. There were no toiletries and towels provided. 6. There were so many ants/ mosquitos and lizards. 7. We had to go and ask them to switch on the geyser. For which I had to go searching for them in other building. 8. They switched it ON and in exactly 1hr they have switched it off. 9. The staff is never available. I will never ever choose this location for next stay.

Location wise good, but the room was not clean, The bathroom latch was broken

I came to Velankanni with my family to visit the church. An auto driver navigated us from the railway station to this place stating that it's a nice and affordable place. We had to pay 3000 Rupees for an A/C room for 5 people (from 6 am to 6 pm ie. 12 hours). Later we found that rooms were not that expensive and we could have got similar rooms for around 1500 rupees. Price wise- Over priced. Services/facilities- poor Staff response- poor (It's not a star hotel or anything to pay 3000 rupees for such a room). Don't get cheated like we got. It was an absolute rip off. We came to the room after visiting church and noticed thousands of ants on our beds. This was informed to the management, and we had to vacate to another room. This was not easy with older parents and a one year old child. We asked for a negotiation in the price we paid. The response was- the room price was 2500 rupees and the auto driver had his commission - 500 rupees. I asked the management if I paid 3000 to them or to the auto driver. They said they accepted the money from me and gave auto driver's commission straight away.. looked like hand balling.. It doesn't matter to me how much they give to auto driver as commission. I expected quality service for the amount I paid. They didn't take any responsibility for the inconvenience we caused. The staff were rude and irresponsible. In short- Don't trust what local auto drivers say. Look online and book rooms in advance if you need to get rooms for cheaper rates. I won't recommend this place to anyone from our experience as a family.

Best room good service

Too expensive. We got a Non AC room for 1500/-. Later we found out that there are cheaper rooms with AC elsewhere. And the room was also not spacious. Toilet was dirty and flush was not working. I won't recommend going to this place at all. Bad service!!

LOW BUDGET FAMILY VERY GOOD RESIDENCY
