Annai Maria Lodge

The lodge is very good compared to all the nearby lodges and the advantage is that it's quite closer to the church. A special mention about John who is always very proactive in all the requirements that we wanted. He made sure everything was in place during check-in as well during our stay. The lodge is worth for the money you pay.

( Zero star ) I stayed at Annai Maria Lodge in Velankanni on 1st September 2024, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. For 2000, I booked a non-AC room expecting at least a basic level of cleanliness and comfort. However, the room did not meet even minimal standards. The room was not clean, and the bed sheets provided were far from satisfactory, making the stay uncomfortable. Given the price paid, the quality of the room and amenities was not justifiable. This lodge should be considered only as a last resort if you cannot find any other better options in the area. Overall, I would not recommend Annai Maria Lodge unless you are left with no other choice. The thing is these people know that someone will book the room no matter how bad it is because it's near to church, so you can't expect any kind of change based on feedbacks,

The room is very unhygienic and it is not well maintained. Bedsheets aren't changed. We could not even go into the bathroom

I had booked 2 AC rooms in March 28th 2023 in the evening for 2 nights and 3 days so 1500 per night for a room cost is ok. We had taken with the western Toilets and hot water.. Service was ok as the room was cleaned on the first day when we arrived and I had noticed a biscuit packet in the wardrobe so I had informed the staff to remove it and clean the wardrobe the staff had done it's job. I had for an extra pillow as there were 4 in one room so they had provided one. And even the window in my room didn't have a curtain, the staff added the curtain. The staff had even provided us a 4 wheeler cab SUV on the last day to go to the station. Now the cons.. the windows didn't have grills so I had a fear in my other family room that my nephew might peep and fall from the window if as it didn't have the grill.. Please install the grills for the windows and curtains as well. In the toilet the WC one of the screw was missing so I felt it was moving out if I had to loose my balance while sitting on the toilet seat please make sure to fix the WC. The water quality was not really good. It was greenish in colour and too salty. As I understand there it is hard water but I feel they need to install the RO or UV purifier. The hot water timings should be mentioned in each rooms as I felt that on the 2nd day there was no hot water supply for bath and the shower should be connected with hot water, which actually was not. The TV dish didn't have Hindi or English channel packs which I really felt should have been added but it's ok as my Dad could watch news in English or Hindi. The ceiling fan in My room was making a lot of noise I feel they need to change it's bearing. The night staff couldn't speak English or Hindi(as in the person who came to give us hot water at night as the water heater wasn't working). I feel you'll should keep some one who could speak in Hindi or English as I am from Goa so couldn't understand Tamil so I understood the jeste of what they were trying to say. And the cleaning staff timings should be mentioned by the owner. As the cleaning staff would come to early in the morning for cleaning and asking for money. Overall experience was descent.

Absolutely unhygienic rooms. The washrooms were dirty and were cleaned only after asking multiple times for it. No hot water supply in the given room too. Had taken a room out of necessity as the auto driver from railway station recommended it.
