We checked in just dial and they gave us this hotel details and worth of 1000rs .but this lodge manager asked 1000rs extra money as not mentioned just dial.so don't believe online statement. As they mentioned google review photo neet and clean with good service...but we got worst experience room not clean full of dust ,tv not working, windows and shelf complete dust... Most important bathroom and Toilet, no clean like public Toilet...full of stained .Bathroom lock damaged we just pulled and titghend some stick to lock the door.i will share the some picture. Don't visit this lodge better visit outside and this is not worth for money

Out there near Valparai Bus Stand, with convenient pricing providing standard accommodation. They have their own restaurant working downwards, so you don't have to roam around for food. Checkin at 12 and checkout at 11:30pm the next day. Service is good. Can have a tea plantation view from there.

We were in Valparai for two days. During this time, we had Breakfast, Lunch and dinner from this hotel. It was one of the best chettinad food that i have ever tasted. The service is good. People were good and friendly. The wash area should have been clean bit more. It is highly recommended to have food from this mess.

If you're looking for great food that doesn't upset you, this is the place. It's right next to Gandhi statue. Very clean and tasty food. Been eating there in both my trips to valparai. Both veg and non-veg are excellent. I didn't stay here however ate all meals during my stay in this hotel. The waiters were great and very courteous. Loved this place.

As I remember it, the hotel was totally OK. Clean and with a nice bed. A little less nice but totally OK bathroom. The restaurant in the ground floor of the hotel serves very nice food. One of the managers, Jeeva, took us on a booked trip in the surroundings. This is something I really would recommend if you stay in Valparai. Jeeva is nice, knowledgeable and interested!

We stayed in this hotel in September 2014 for 2N/3D. There were only few options for stay and food at Valparai. This hotel is situated near bus stand. They have their own hotel (mess) and most of the people at Valaparai come here to eat. Food taste and Hospitality were excellent. Only thing I say below average is the appearance and the car parking. It was a narrow pathway that would take you inside to the hotel. There was a small dead end road near their hotel and car can be parked on that road. Room was good and it was spacious with two double cots. Families can stay here, but it is a budget hotel and don't expect much.

I had already heard about Sri Lakshmi Chettinad Mess even before visiting it. We reached the mess through a narrow drive way and our intention was to have some snacks and drive back to Pollachi. The quality of the food was so good that we were in the mess for nearly two hours! If some improvements are mad in the mess it could sure attract more tourists.

Don't be fooled by the reviews. This has to be the most disappointing stays one could ever get into.||The folks around the area do not even know that such a hotel exists but more likely the restaurant below the hotel is more known. The side alley to the hotel at the back is the look of a burned out building in a war. The front side entrance is so narrow and your worst fears are about to be unravelled.||Wait, there is more. The 10 room hotel has tiny steps leading to the rooms, beware a single mis-step can land you into the quagmire below and a taller person (above 6 ft) will easily hit the landing area of the steps. The hotel manager's room is right besides the room and he will burn incense in the morning and evening as well. There are 4 beds in some rooms (2 beds in one corner) and others have 2 beds. Some of the corners do not have any fans. I would hazard a guess about guests comfort in the summer. Some rooms have a small opening on the side wherein a small adult can squeeze in and land in your bedroom/washroom without you even noticing it. A big safety issue. When this was brought up to the management, they would make a light situation out of it.||The washroom cleanliness is nothing to be spoken of, drab-ugly to be fair. The beds as such seem to be okay but the overall cleanliness and safety issues would make it tough for anyone to get a good night's sleep. The shower area equipment is quite tricky to figure out for hot water bath.||Less said the better about the Chettinadu restaurant which however, does extremely brisk business. The food is bland, the cuisine is astonishingly bad, and the cleanliness is something out of another planet. A very lethal concoction for any reasonable traveller to survive.
