A paradise on earth, absolutely the best place I have stayed in all my travels. The rooms the ambience the food and the service were beyond our expectations. The staff from Aldrin, Surabhi and Murugan all the staff made it such a special homely stay.

Our stay at the Sinna Dorai Upper Paralai Bungalow, part of the Murugappa group, was a fantastic first-time experience in a historic British-style bungalow. Perched atop a hill within a 1,000-acre organic tea estate, the location is breathtaking, offering tranquility and stunning views. The property is impeccably maintained, and the staff's warmth and friendliness truly enhanced our stay. It's clear they are carefully selected for their passion for hospitality and receive specialized training, which shines through in their service.||Our room was extremely comfortable, featuring a great bathroom with a hot shower. The bungalow also has a library for relaxation. Opportunities abound for wildlife sightings (book the night safari in advance) and peaceful walks to nearby private streams. A visit to their organic tea factory, where they produce tea for export, is also a must. You can purchase delicious organic teas and lemon tea at the property (not at the factory). ||The food was excellent, with a diverse selection of South Indian dishes, particularly with a Chettinad influence.||While the 5km approach road from the main road is in poor condition with many potholes, the incredible experience that awaits you at the top is well worth the bumpy ride.||Special thanks to the outstanding staff, including Joel, Kalai, and Chef Ashirvadham.||Our stay was truly five-star, and we definitely plan to return.

An exceptional place to stay. After three days in a hectic and stressful Munnar this was a slice of paradise. Beautiful and quiet bungalow hidden away from the world surrounded with beautiful views and nature. Food and service is beyond excellent, the library is a treasure trove of tea cultivation history, and the rooms are very comfortable indeed. I only have two minor criticisms; firstly, the rubbish bins in the rooms are of modern design and conflict with the general atmosphere of the rooms; secondly, a piece of vegetation was leaning against the electric fence which caused a regular sound to emit from it - this was a slight distraction in the evening hours. These are obviously minor concerns and overall this place is one of the finest experiences I have had in the Ghats.

Spectacular place. Stayed here in Jan 2025. The drive leading up to the estate and through the estate is very scenic and beautiful. Although the 5KM road within the estate that leads up to the bungalow needs repair, the surroundings kind of make up for that inconvenience. The overall layout of the bungalow and the views from the lawns and common areas are breathtaking. Here we were assigned 1 Cottage room which was on a ridge and have a beautiful valley view, the other 2 rooms were bungalow rooms. All rooms were very decent sized, well equipped with large and clean bathrooms. The only issue with the bungalow rooms is that they have no view/balcony. The rooms however are very comfortable and have the old estate character. The overall service is very good. Surabhi was there on the first day to welcome us and brief us and after that Murugan and Joel were available for any questions that we had. Joel even alerted us to elephant sightings and drove with us there impromptu. Murugan guided us with the evening walk and our drive to the private stream. We really had a very nice time here overall. The food here is good with good variety of North and South Indian food. Some is even a fusion of the two but overall nice and they do try and cater to personal choices. Overall Excellent stay and amazing experience ! Very highly recommend.

This is my second experience with Sinna Dorai - after Sakleshpur & similar to that, this as well is meant for those who prefer understated luxury over bling & blitz. There is no spa but the clean mountain air will cleanse you of toxicity anyways. The inhouse kitchen serves nothing but regular, homely food but the taste beats anything served in star hotels. The books in their library provide a panoramic view into the history of the Muruguppa family, the Chettiar community & their journey through the ages. The walks/treks in the estate (unfortunately we missed the river walk) are a nice peaceful stroll with the occasional wild life sighting. The night safari, though in my view is not worth - maybe we were unlucky! Surabhi is a courteous host & a pleasure to talk to. We wish her the best ahead. The only few points to ponder: 1. The iced tea concentrate is too sweet - unfortunately not too different from the others we get in our department stores. A tea lover like me would have liked it to be slightly more mature in taste. 2. The room gets cold at night & a more powerful heater would have helped 3. Some more opportunities to explore the estate - maybe a cycling tour or some fun expeditions for kids would really work

Top notch property. They have 3 in the region, however the upper parlai I assume is the crown At least once in a lifetime we should have stayed here. The price is underrated for the services provided. What you will get as service is more than what you pay. 3 time meals, with super clean rooms and highly attentive staff. We were fortunate to stay here for a night. The property is part of the Murugappa groups, Parry company. So you are staying at a property whose owners have other companies which are household names. The food, the care, the paid treks, other activities, are all an absolute steal. Elephants and bisons besides others, roam this 10000 acre property. However they dont enter the electric wire fenced premises. Manicured gardens make it super charming. Joel the property manager was an amazing host and is an asset to the establishment. As seasoned travellers, we found everything in place. Go for it. Trust me.

We were there between 10th to 13th September,|We stayed at the Fraser cottage, great views and awesome experience. Many thanks to Joel, Jhansi, Muruggan for making our stay a memorable one. We were lucky to spot the leopard in our night safari curtesy Hari. The long hike with Joel was thrilling and the walk to the stream with Deva was great.

After 40 hairpin bends and a 3-hour road journey from Coimbatore Airport, we arrived at Sinna Dorai's Bungalow. It is a further 5 kms uphill drive to the Bungalow after we turned off the main road into the estate. The staff at the Bungalow are very hospitable and nice. The welcome drink - iced lemon tea from the tea grown at another of their estates in Valparai was very refreshing and was like a prelude to our refreshing vacation at Sinna Dorai's Bungalow ||We enjoyed the quiet and solitude, the fresh air and chirping of birds. There are 6 rooms/cottages. Two rooms in the main bungalow, two cottages a few steps away from the main Bungalow and two cottages further down which would require some walking. There are convenient timings for meals at the restaurant in the main bungalow. Food is delicious and homely with large servings. ||This is a destination to rest and refresh. If one is looking for a place full of activities and things to do, then this may not be the place. We were in the middle of a working tea estate where there is plenty of flora and fauna. These are the elements we enjoyed and did not step out of the estate the entire time we were there.||Our thanks to Surabhi for helping us with our reservations and responding to our queries. Murugan, Joel, Kalai, Jhansi, Davam and the rest of the staff were there to take care of us. We felt at home!||We hope to come back some day and also visit their other properties.
