Ever Green Resort

This place is located about 25kms from Valparai town, 1km from Sholayar dam and 2kms from Kerela border. It is a serene place surrounded by greenery. Affordable place with totally 3 rooms available. We hired all the 3 rooms. Rooms were big, neat and well maintained with a big cot, safes and rest rooms. Extra beds provided were not good and there was some bad smell coming out of it. Restroom in one of the rooms was not good and we found some leeches. Two other restrooms were good. Food will be prepared somewhere and will be given here on demand. They gave us delicious food, both veg and non-veg. There is no drinking water at this place so we have to pay and get it from outside which is a biggest drawback. They will get both food and water from outside place but they will charge for auto also from us. Overall a nice place to stay away city, surrounded full of greenery and forest, very quite place. We found it affordable with 10 of us sharing it, good for the money we paid. No wifi available. No mobile networks will work at this place except BSNL 2G.

I have has great experiances with home stays and resorts recommended by trip Advisor. I am totally disappointed with Greens Cottage. This place is good if you are a bunch of bachelors, certainly not good for a family.||1. The place of stay is like a make shift arrangement. The building is not concrete casted, ceiling is asbestos/ plastic sheet. Its all plastics all round.||2. No amenities .||3. No Parking, you park on the road side||4. You call up the place directly and the care taker will cut a deal for you - may be 1/4 the rack rate. ||5. We prefered to cook our on food since the food offered by the cook was nothing great. The management charged a "kitchen Utility charge" which was not part of the package committed. And the per day "kitchen Utility Charges" was much more than the total grocery charges including chicken which we incured during the 2 day stay!||6. No toileteries provided||7. Bed sheets and Bathrooms were not clean.||8. And finally the attitude of the care taker was not at all hospitable.||9. We had occupied two rooms and fan in one room was not working.||||I will never go back to that place

Place was not at all clean. It was stinking with some smell. Something died in the false ceiling. My family trip is ruined because of that. Getting food was a challenge and even after multiple reminder did not get food on time. All the staff were internally blaming. It's not a resort, just one house with 3 unclean rooms. Total waste of money. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

It is just an average place . We went to book this property purely based on Trip advisor reviews-but was totally disappointed . ||||We reached the place in the night . Only BSNL mobile has got range in this area and both of us do not use BSNL . so there was no way we could reach the cottage to let them know that we need dinner . Nevertheless, after we reached the caretaker managed to bring food from nearby hotel . But next day morning , though we told them in advance, the food was served very late. As there was no power and the cooking gas was over :) :) .finally the guy managed to get a kerosine stove to make breakfast||There are lots of beautiful places to explore . They would arrange a jeep (chargeable ) ||||Good part : good views , good scenery, lot of unexplored nature around. Staff is courteous||Not so good part :|| It is just a building with 3 bed rooms with no activity to do within the campus . Parking is only road side . They would cook food only if you ask . so if you plan to book this place, be very very specific on food and what time you need it to be served . The bath rooms are OK , Not very clean||Beware not to get fooled by people who would come to the property and would try to sell tea powder packets to you - IT IS TOTAL WASTE||||Overall : It is an average property. It would be better if they have a professional cook arranged as there are no good hotels around . They can improve the property by providing some activities within the campus

After having a bad experience at Cotsvilla, near Topslip, we headed to The Green's cottage at Valaprai. We were very happy for the service we received. The place is on the main road, yet it is difficult to spot, as they do not have any sign boards. The rooms, the dining portion and the kitchen are very well maintained. The staff over there has been extremely co-operative and very kind to prepare the food that suits our taste-buds. ||My only suggestion to the staff is - it would be nice if they had provided toiletries in each room, and there was some space in their property for the kids to play and people to roam around, go for a walk.

Great resort with all features. Food also they prepared and given. that too awsome. Quantity and quality is great for the money given for them. They provided veg and non veg dishes separately for different family's. Great to stay back and enjoy the nature. only draw back is no car parking available. we need to park the vehicle in the road side, which is bit dangerous.

Excellent hospitality from the time of booking till the completion of the stay... Thanks to Mr. Augustine,Rajan and Philip. Descent three rooms with kitchen facilities. We can cook our food or the caretaker will arrange food from outside restaurants. Disturbance of rat is only the problem . Good homestay.

Valparaiso tourism is still not as developed as ooty or coonoor. having said that, most places to stay are tourist homes or regular hotels. Greens cottage comes up as specialty stay/resort so decided to check out. Location is good.. Close to sholayar dam. however it is hardly a resort. Basic rooms and basic service. Also safety and security is a big question mark. OK for group of bachelors but not family kind of place. Although they're are limited resort options.. Better to stay in a regular hotel. With better tourism development, this place had potential.. Just not presently.
