Tea estate bungalows are special, but Sirikundra takes that up by several notches. First, it's the people who make a difference: Aravinth, Jagan, Munneshwaran Arun, and the chefs Rajesh and Ramakrishnan - and all the other boys who helped us with all our needs and meals through the day - you're all the absolute best! The timeliness of service, the cheerful greetings and the excellence in quality of delivery of service are unparalleled. Thank you so much for the service, we really appreciate it. ||The location is perfect - not in the middle of the hustle bustle, but not too far away. Close to bus stops, very walkable. There are lots of activities in nearby bungalows which they conduct. We especially liked the river walk and the nature walk. It's a fantastic place to stay and find some peace and relaxation /

The rooms and location are so good and attractive. We booked a wooden chalet and the stay was superb. Wooden chalet has a lack of maintenance. The garden and the food servings attracted me. The food was of a five star standard level. I was really impressed. You can refer to my picture. There is a trucking in the morning free of cost with the package. We couldn't attend. I loved their food and the standard
Sirukundra Bungalow in Valparai is an exceptional getaway that combines spacious accommodations, excellent service, and stunning surroundings. Accommodation and Ambiance: The property offers a mix of spacious rooms within the bungalow, charming wooden cabins, and two tents, making it suitable for groups of up to 20-22 people. The rooms are generously sized, and the bathrooms are impressively large--almost as big as the bedrooms themselves. Everything is immaculately maintained, with the interiors adorned by lush plants and elegant decor, creating a cozy yet luxurious atmosphere. Dining Experience: The full-board meal options are a highlight. With live counters for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the variety and quality of the food are remarkable. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are well-prepared, offering a good spread to satisfy all tastes. Service: The staff's politeness and attentiveness elevate the experience. Since we had booked most of the rooms, the team went above and beyond, even assisting with errands at night, showcasing their dedication to guest satisfaction. Surroundings: The property is set amidst beautiful landscapes, offering serene views and a peaceful environment. The greenery inside and around the bungalow enhances the overall charm. Overall Impression: Sirukundra Bungalow is an ideal destination for family gatherings or group retreats. With spacious accommodations, delicious food, and impeccable service, it promises a memorable stay in the heart of nature. Rating: 4.8/5
Rooms were good but wouldn't say they were worth the amount paid. All the staff were polite and took great care. Our room had switches for the outdoor camp fire area, so we were disturbed when we were resting. Why would someone keep a switch inside the room for a common place. That was a bit awkward. They took us for a nature walk, which was so refreshing. People with kids take water with you and dress appropriately for the walk as certain areas can be slippery. We did spot some animals and were able to see some birds as well. What was really pleasant was we heard the Malabar whistling bird early in the morning.
We stayed here for a night during the Christmas Eve. For starters, this place is away from all the hustle and bustle. There is no network coverage and wifi coverage is available at few spots only. We stayed in tents and it was a good experience. While it's a tent from outside, we didn't feel any shortcomings on the inside. They are neatly maintained. Coming to the best part - food. We were greeted with special Christmas dinner which was really really delicious. Even the morning breakfast was really tasty. Breakfast selection is limited but really tasty. Must recommended for anyone visiting Valparai. The staff are very courteous as well.
The stay was not worth the price. There was no swimming pool, and no activities were provided. We stayed in a tent, but there was no Wi-Fi or even mobile network connectivity in the area. The only outing included was a visit to the tea factory gate, and we couldn't even go inside as the factory is closed on weekends. While the food was good, there were zero activities offered, and we were charged extra just to view their properties.
We have stayed at the bungalow. The location is nice. There are only 3 rooms, and they are very big. Service is not up to the mark, and food options are very limited. Pricing is very high, and it's not value for money.
Sirukundra Bungalow is one of the five bungalows of Briar Tea Bungalows in Valparai (the other four being Stanmore Garden Bungalow, Monica Bungalow, Villa Fair Winds and Puthutotam Annexe). Sirukundra Bungalow is more than a century old, built in 1917, and has 3 large bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a common living room, and a dining room. Though surrounded by tea gardens, the bungalow itself has no direct view. It has its own garden with plenty of rare flowers, luxurious greenery, butterflies and a variety of rare birds. They have tried to retain the old world charm with botanical prints and drawings of birds & butterflies; antique furniture (though not very comfortable); mirrors & lampshades. The three bedrooms and their bathrooms are spacious, well fitted & comfortable. The beds are however all single and mattresses have seen better days. The linen though is always fresh. The best part about the stay is their food service- fresh, tasty, well presented and well served. You can ask for anything, it'll be made and served. If the number of guests are not too many, you are served in the bungalow dining room in a truly colonial style. The staff, is very well trained, courteous and helpful. Another special part of the stay is their morning trek to rea gardens, to watch the gardens, birds and if you are lucky, some wild life. Their staff Mahesh Bara is especially trained and well informed. The trek takes place in the company's own estate in Puthutotam and is a "must do". We also visited the tea factory but that's avoidable. There are also 4 wooden chalets, and 2 cozy tents. We stayed in one of the chalets for one night. Small 10 feet by 10 feet room with an attached bath and a wonderful verandah for you to sit back, sip your drink and watch the birds go by. Very cozy (Bring your own drinks btw, they don't serve). Be warned though, the walls are a single layer of wood. It can get quite cold if the temperature drops. Also the sounds carry, from outside-in as well as inside-out
