Holiday Inn Express Chennai Omr Thoraipakkam, an IHG Hotel

I am a regular guest at this hotel, and as part of my multiple stays, I had the opportunity to connect with Shweta, the manager, regarding the hotel, my stay, and other inquiries. The quality of our conversation, her assistance, the level of service, and the overall customer experience were exceptional. Shweta possesses extensive knowledge and strong management skills in IHG hotels.||I would like to take this opportunity to highlight and appreciate Shweta for the following:||1. Pillows good. Bed rock hard. No sleep |as theres work going on outside and inside the hotel. All the hot food was cold. Curry chicken and lamb had bones in. I ended up having toast for breakfast and cinnamon bun. ||Coffee was OK. Cakes were awful in Cafe. Shame, was looking forward to trying them. ||Sports bar ran out of beer a lot. No choice in gin and PS11 for a double. ||Staff nice. Room cleaned once in 3 days. Ran out of loo roll and borrowed some from my brothers room. Room didn't look clean on arrival.

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay at your hotel. I stayed for one night and found the experience to be very poor. The room was small and cramped, making it uncomfortable. Furthermore, the bathroom lacked ventilation and was so small that it was difficult to stand and shower properly. The only positive aspect of my stay was the breakfast, which I found to be good and decent. However, this was not enough to compensate for the overall negative experience. As a result of these issues, I am giving your hotel a 1-star rating.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the rooms are very comfortable. The receptionist was easy to reach and very helpful for me throughout my stay. I truly enjoyed my experience here and would love to come back.

We had a very smooth check in and check out process. Rooms are bit small but comfortable for short stay. Staff's were really helpful and had really good experience. Breakfast was amazing and we enjoyed. Location is ideal for getting cabs. Overall it's was a great experience.

I recently visited Holiday Inn for their buffet dine-in and had a pleasant experience. The ambiance was welcoming and the staff were courteous and attentive. The buffet spread offered a good variety of dishes, catering to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences. Everything was well-prepared and nicely presented. A special mention to Sreekuttan, who attended us.

The only factor keeping Holiday Inn Express afloat is the kind, friendly staff. If I could I would only rate the House Keeping staff (especially Bhawani) and the restaurant staff a five star. The rooms are extremely crammed and congested. While you charge an extra guest charge for a double bedroom, it is not even designed for 2 people. Night stands were broken (fixed the next day), no gap between night stand and desk. It is actually only a single bedroom technically speaking. There is no room for storage. Also, I will bring it up to IHG on how the group could even approve of the floor plan when it came to the restroom area. How is the design saving any space when there is no place to hang your clothes while in shower, no drawers to hold any item. The 6th floor had a disgusting smell-possibly from storing the cardboard boxed filled with styrofoam. The gym was great, and bathrooms clean. The air conditioning is spotty. Front desk has great friendly staff but please pick up the phone calls. Front desk lacks knowledge of local information (especially a lady who worked the week of May 5 lacks knowledge of even the Hotel's assets/resources). Also, front desk associates do not communicate with one another as I had to keep the front desk apprised of what was discussed with a staff prior at the front desk. Have been at many IHG locations and the Holiday Inn Express in Chennai and Holiday Inn at T3 Delhi Airport should compete for the worst IHG Hotel ever title. If this is the standard IHG is leaning towards, am afraid I can no longer be a member of the group.

Worst experience ever had. Would definitely not recommend to anyone else. Rooms are so small and cramped. It feels so suffocated and it smells even after housekeeping is done. Sheets and rugs are all stained. Bathroom door doesn't have a latch. It's definitely uncomfortable to share with anyone else. One of the cleaning staff opened our room while we were sleeping. They listed out so many amenities but we didn't have any in our room except for the dental kit, that too for one person. Even the towel was one in a two adults sharing room. They are just looting us. I had far better experience in many other hotels with much lesser prices.
