Tanjore Hi Hotel

We had an excellent 3 night stay. The room was extremely clean and nice. I took two baths in the luxurious bathtub. The breakfasts were delicious. Both the hotel manager Rashid and kitchen manager Kumar went out of their way to make sure we were happy and helped us in any way we needed (arranging a driver, helping my husband when we wasn't feeling well with preparing a dhal and a lemon drink). We thought the hotel was beautiful and an overall great stay.

We recently stayed at Tanjore Hi Hotel, and our experience was quite disappointing. The hotel is highly overpriced for the facilities they provide. The washrooms were not well-maintained, and they looked nothing like what was shown in the pictures. Proper upkeep is clearly lacking, which made our stay uncomfortable. Additionally, the cafeteria was closed, and they were not serving any food, which was very inconvenient. Overall, the hotel does not justify its pricing, and the lack of maintenance and services makes it a poor choice for travelers. Would not recommend.

We try to find heritage hotels in India. We found Tanjore Hi in Thanjavur which has the heritage quality of an old house but with the flair of a boutique hotel. It's a special place. And for practicalities, the room was large with high ceilings, hot water readily available for showers or bath and all clean. We had a good meal on the upper floor restaurant which is spacious and full of light. Beautiful open design. Highly recommended. Owner and staff are very attentive and helpful. It's a short walk to the Royal Palace - don't miss the art galleries there - and shortish tuktuk ride to the Brihadeeswara Temple.

When I arrived to the hotel, it's interior built impressed me. When I went to my allocated room, I was thinking ok, I can manage a night here. The facilities in the room was ok. The room and bathroom were clean( that I see first!!!,). I didn't have any activities in evening. So wanted to kill my time watching TV. But where is the TV? Unfortunately the don't have TVs in the rooms (?!). I thought to use my phone but the internet connection was very poor. The hospitality from Senthilkumar was second to none. I was looked after so well by him. He's a great chef plus very good at managing hotel. Because of him I could stay two nights in the hotel. He looked after me so well that for a day I had forgotten that I was a solo traveller!!!!!|The location of the hotel is good. Everything is nearby. If you are not much on TV or phone, this is the great hotel for you.

A quirky hotel with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, excellent service and breakfast. iIdeally situated for the major tourist venues in Thanjavur. The main drawbacks are location on a busy main road (but we were located in a back room that perfectly quiet even on Diwali). The immediate surroundings of the hotel are not attractive and the WiFi is poor. However it is excellent value for money.

An old house has been renovated. Room was comfortable & clen. No tv in the room.great location.palace and temple architecture very nice. Staff very kind and helpful. Roof top restaurant limited food only available. Good food with great hospitality staff.

This place has so much potential but as it is currently, I would not stay there again. The room was very dirty, the mattress falling apart. It was very noisy despite earplugs due to the barking dogs under our window from 2 to 4 am which I understand is not the hotel's fault.

I stay one night very nice boutique hotel.the location also verygood. Well-maintained the place.the staff are really nice and helpfull. Main attraction walking distance palace and temple. The temple architectural wonder , museum also intersting.
