Located conveniently close to the main temple, this place offers a serene and relaxing atmosphere that truly calms the senses. The traditional charm is well-maintained, and it provides a lovely heritage experience.||The food was good, although the options were somewhat limited. One area for improvement would be the linens and pillows--I did find them a bit uncomfortable. That said, the overall experience was enjoyable and memorable, especially for those seeking a touch of cultural authenticity.

Top dollar prices for dust and mosquitoes, shabby sheets and cockroaches in the room, flies on the food, poorly stocked bar and absent chef's who had to be called back to cook and serve food at 9:15pm. This is after calling the hotel to say we would be late returning to the hotel and being assured the 'restaurant' shuts at 10:30pm. The staff, when we found them, were few and untrained - and there was nobody who could speak English on the day we arrived. They even left our identity documents unattended on the table in a room with the door wide open. We spent 3 nights there which was the worst decision of our trip. The most aggravating was the lack of acceptance of the wide gap between the price and what was being offered. No apology from the owners. No decision making ability in staff. I returned to this hotel in January 2025 after a fabulous stay a couple of years go. The standards have deteriorated tremendously, particularly at the restaurant. The quality of the food was a major attraction, and I think the hotel has become complacent because of lack of competitors in the vicinity. The kitchen was terribly understaffed, the people were overworked, and undertrained. Service was slow and poor. The gym was in very bad shape two years ago, and I did not even venture there this year. Other amenities are not anywhere near the standard one would expect for the price they charge. I would be remiss if I did not mention some caring staff members who helped out when I had a heath need. That is the only reason for the three stars. The property location is great. Please take note and improve kitchen services and other amenities. We will be back if that happens.

The ambiance was warm and inviting, making for a truly enjoyable meal. What made the visit even better was the exceptional service from Sarah, the Guest Service Manager. She was incredibly polite, professional, and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was perfect. Her personalized recommendations and friendly attitude made me feel truly valued as a guest. Overall, I highly recommend Svatma for anyone looking for great food and excellent service. I'll definitely be back!

Fantastic property very close to the big temple and the palace (about 10 mins drive). One hour drive from cholapuram. Hospitality was the best. Breakfast was included and was satisfying. It's vegetarian but eggs are served. The property had exquisite furniture and fittings and was very clean. Rooms are luxurious. There's a spa and they offer a 10 min complimentary foot massage upon arrival and sound therapy demo. Spa prices are reasonable. The experience provided at the hotel was worth the price. It is a picturesque place to unwind. A few things could've been better: the pool was under maintenance and that was disappointing. There was a power cut for about 30 mins. A dustbin in the room would've helped. The AC was a bit noisy. Otherwise everything was just fantastic! Would definitely visit again.

I had a fantastic stay at Svatma Hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, with a comfortable bed and great bathroom. The food was excellent, with fresh, flavorful dishes for both breakfast and lunch. The service was outstanding, especially from Sarah, the Guest Service Manager. Stay is good but fell short of expectations. Key highlights close to Tanjore Brahadeeswara temple. Dining option and hospitality of staff are excellent. Architecture/heritage theme is excellent. Price is on the higher end, as some basic facilities are not up to the mark. Swimming pool was under maintenance, TV were not working, wifi not worked either. For the price & star rating, I would have expected all the facilities in working condition. Most likely this will be in full functional mode during Oct to Feb where foreigners are expected.
