Philomena Hotel & Apartment

We stayed at Philomena Hotel and Apartment on 4th May 2025. The rooms were clean and the complimentary breakfast was mentioned in the booking. However, we were disappointed when breakfast was served in the room without tea. Upon calling the reception, we were informed that tea is chargeable at 35, which is not what we expected from a "complimentary breakfast." If the tea isn't included, it should be clearly mentioned during booking. It felt misleading and diminished the overall experience. The hotel should improve communication and ensure transparency regarding what is truly included. Would recommend only if you're okay with these kinds of hidden extras.

Good property with decent facility for family. Value for money. I booked through Agoda app @ 1 double room for <1,500/- net off discount for 1 night stay. 12 to 10:15 check in/out. Only issue is with the Inexperienced staffs who keep calling you in the room phone for unwanted reasons. No in house restaurant, but they get you complementary breakfast as parcel

Room and property matches exactly with photos shown by the property owner. I would say this is budget friendly plus a decent hotel to stay when you plan to visit Tanjore We planned late check-in both, staff from both shifts at the front desk were polite ans helpful and arranged for a smooth extension of rooms. The morning breakfast was good, served to your room (because there is no separate dining area) and it was good. The best part is no one asked for tips! Clean restrooms and clean beds, linens were not premium but a good value for money. We brought our own bedsheets hence didn't worry. Many food joints are near by and Big temple is just a 5 mins auto rickshaw ride. Management should invest in providing valet service for parking because it is a chaos when people tend to park behind every vehicle and you can't take out when there is an emergency. Except parking everything else was good.

Value for money. This hotel is clean and rooms are spacious. It is located at a prime location, where u have all amenities like restaurants, shopping malls, tea shops etc at few steps. Recommended

Neat, clean, and super comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable and the linen fresh and clean. Hotel is off the main road and within walking distance to good restaurants/shops. Everything was great.

Pretty decent hotel with nominal price for a family, clean rooms, neatly maintained property, Staffs are very helpful, close to Railway station and shops nearby. They provide additional foldable beds for extra guests but not a great comfortable mattress still ok to manage. Also they provide complimentary breakfast which they need to improve as dosa was not properly cooked, sambar also not good. We stayed there for 3 days and we had it for 2 days and it was the same menu / experience hence we had to take it outside on the 3rd from Vasantha bhavan which is next to them. Overall budget friendly and comfortable stay except complimentary breakfast.

What I found funny was, the immediate response to my hello was check out time and I cannot stay in after that time. I mean, start a conversation with Hi and Hello. The room was good, but then, at this price, I would expect more neat and tidy.

Very Neat , well maintained and reasonable cost. To reach Tanjore railway station or Rajaji park or Tanjore temple they charge you 100 rupees by Auto. Manimadapam is walkable from the hotel. There are lots of good restaurants nearby and there is a grocery shop also nearby. ATM is available on the same street
