Hotel Royal Stay Main

We were given a double accommodation here though we booked in their nearby hotel. The room was quite big. Room service was good. There is a veg restaurant with separate kitchen in the basement. Food served was good. The non veg restaurant is in the top floor. There are only 9 rooms in this hotel. People were courteous and polite. Some problems that I encountered were 1. The large wide shower over your head was spilling all over the room except on your head. 2. The automatic door closer didn't work. 3. The video phone wasn't working. 4. There were no drawers anywhere to keep your things safe. There was however a large cupboard to keep your clothes. 5. The front office doesn't tell you at the time of checking that you are entitled to a complimentary breakfast if you have paid for it. You need to ask them and they will advise you to collect the token. 6. The interiors of this hotel as you enter is made to look glossy and gaudy. The interiors in the room dampens the brightness. 7. Their other hotel behind this hotel is flashy and looks over decorated and the rooms are smaller when compared to this hotel under review. 8. The room's calling bell wasn't working. People have to knock your door. 9. The staff require training to speak well and handle the guests. 10. Being a new property and still under development, people don't care the value of attending to small things. Like points 1 to 3 above, the elevator's touch buttons weren't working. Especially the first floor button 1 wasn't working.

Amazing place to stay in! It's in the main area, very close to big temple. Rooms are clean & neat. Loved my stay there Fathima, who's in the reception is a sweetheart. Her gesture is so kind hearted. I ran out of cash to go to temple one day, so I asked her if I could goay her and she accepted very kindly. She made sure I stayed comfortable and if everything is fine every single day. I stayed there for 10 days. Not a day goes by without her kindness & sweet smile. No second thoughts to book here. When I visit Tanjore again, this is the hotel I would love to stay. There are two "Hotel RoyalStay" in Thanjavur. This one is called "Main". The other one is the "Annex", about a kilometer away on a quiet street, it looks nice but has no restaurant in the premises. We inadvertently showed up at the Annex and later discovered the goof-up. You may guess, correctly, that check-in was a confused affair. Everyone was nice, patient and helpful, though. Then I updated Google Maps to put this hotel in the correct location. The Hotel RoyalStay Main is on the main road near the bustling bus stop. The restaurant downstairs was good for lunch, much better than higher-rated restaurants nearby. The restaurant upstairs looks spiffy, has a view. We had dinner and breakfast there. The air-conditioner drainpipe probably came loose, made a puddle outside our room in the morning.
