I booked two rooms at V P Lodge through MakeMyTrip for 28th December 2024, but upon arrival, the manager denied entry, claiming the owner had canceled my booking without any prior notice. MakeMyTrip failed to notify me or offer an alternative. The manager arranged a single small room 2 km away for 4000 per day--much higher than my original booking of 4485 for two rooms. Reluctantly, I accepted. The next morning, at 5:30 AM, we were rudely asked to vacate, despite my train being at 9:15 AM. Local residents revealed this is a common scam where the hotel cancels bookings to force customers into overpriced alternatives for commissions. This unethical practice is shameful and ruins the trust of travelers. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

I had a terrible experience at V P Lodge, Rameshwaram, located near the Government Hospital. On 28th December 2024, I arrived with my family after booking two rooms through MakeMyTrip. To my shock, the manager refused us entry, claiming the owner had already canceled the booking without any prior notice. I didn't even receive a cancellation notification or reminder from MakeMyTrip. This created immense stress for us, as we were stranded with nowhere to go. After heated arguments with both the hotel manager and MakeMyTrip, no alternative solution was provided by the booking platform. The manager eventually offered to "arrange" a room 2 kilometers away from the hotel--a single small room with an attached bathroom--for 4000 per day. This was outrageously overpriced, especially since I had originally booked two rooms at 4485 for one day. Feeling helpless, I accepted it. We checked into this alternative room at 2:33 PM on 28th December. To add insult to injury, at 5:30 AM the next morning (29th December), hotel staff rudely knocked on our door and told us to vacate immediately. This was completely unfair, especially as I had a train scheduled for 9:15 AM. While I managed to adjust, I shudder to think what someone without a clear plan would have done in such a situation. Local residents revealed to me that this is a common scam orchestrated by V P Lodge. They collaborate with MakeMyTrip to attract visitors and then cancel their bookings upon arrival, forcing them to stay in overpriced alternative accommodations where the hotel earns commissions. This is utterly disgraceful and reflects poorly on both V P Lodge and MakeMyTrip. I strongly urge travelers to avoid this property and for platforms like MakeMyTrip to take strict action against such unethical practices. Such behavior ruins the trust and experience of visitors in Rameshwaram.

Very very very bad... Too much pathetic... They charged 18000 for 2 rooms for 2 nights... Which in real doesn't deserve more than 500-600 rupees.. Ants mouse in the room.. One room main door cannot be locked from inside fulll night the room was open.. Bathroom door doesn't have handle.. No drinking water no service at all... They are just looters during peak time.. And no wonder only this lodge had some rooms available

My recent stay at this place was extremely disappointing. The room I was given fell far below expectations. Firstly, the cleanliness was subpar; there were visible stains on the carpet and the bathroom was not properly sanitized. Additionally, the bed linens looked worn-out and had a musty odor.my experience was far from satisfactory. I expected better quality and service for the price paid. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements for future guests. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this room to my worst enemy. Save yourself the misery and find somewhere else to stay.

Very bad experience. No locks on the bathroom door No room lock. No handle on the room door Bad smell, no ventilation. Money minded people, they charged extra for few hrs extra time because darshan took longer time. We had to get another hotel room because of the smell in this room. I was getting vomiting sensation with the smell. You should never choose this Lodge if visiting Rameshwaram. You'd rather sleep outside or near temple or any chatram.

Very very bad experience, I had booked through Yatradham.Org vide Booking ID 100491844 Delux double AC Room ,they allotted me Room No 102, there is lots of problems like this :-|1/. No lock system inside the bathroom,|2/. Western Pan broken , water leakages | 24hrs, after flash all water flows in | bathroom.|3/.There is not any table , chair in the room, after several times request they provide me a plastic chair and a broken plastic table which legs is broken, and they told they have not.|4/. Very dirty room|5/. Very very small room|6/. No geyser in the room ( one common | geyser | out side the room |7/. No dustbin in the room|8/. Yatradham org. making fools to their | customers with uploaded false picture |9/. I have snap shot and video of my | allotted room|10/. I request to those who wish to book v.p. | lodge, don't book this lodge. Waste of | money.
