Hotel Vel Residency Rameswaram

I recently stayed at a hotel that has a lot of potential, but there were several areas that could use improvement. On the positive side, the location is easily accessible and conveniently situated near the Ramanathaswamy Temple and Agni Teertham, making it ideal for travelers. The rooms are spacious, and the room service is quite good, with commendable hospitality from the staff, who were always ready to assist. However, there were some drawbacks. The hotel lacks a lift, but since it only has ground and first-floor rooms, the staff is willing to help with luggage, making it manageable. The air conditioning in the room was not very effective for the size and had a dripping issue, which was disappointing. Additionally, bath towels were not provided, and while soaps and shampoo were available upon request, it would be better if they were included in the room. Breakfast was not included, despite being mentioned during booking, so that's something to keep in mind. While the location is great and the staff can be resourceful, I encountered issues with cleanliness and felt that my driver was treated poorly, which was disheartening. Overall, while there are some positives, I would recommend considering other options until these issues are addressed.

Location of the property is good. I stayed in room no 104.The service staff was helpful though. The room was very small(max 80 sq feet) with a small window which was good for nothing. If you are claustrophobic then it can be a major problem.No housekeeping staff is available.If someone ask me whether I will come to this property on my next visit to rameswaram then my answer will be it's definitely not. The room costs me 2500 rs per night but compared to the price the property was very poor.

Easily accessible location. Spacious rooms. Good room service. Good hospitality. Located nearby Ramanathaswamy temple and Agni theertham. Also very nearby to catch auto/bus and also for boat/ferry ride. Negatives: 1. No lift facility, but it's only ground floor and 1st floor rooms in the building and hotel staff assists with luggage. So it's manageable. 2. AC wasn't effective for the room size and was dripping, could do better to improve this. 3. No bath towels provided. 4. No soaps and shampoo provided in the room. But later soaps were provided upon request only, this can be improved. 5. No breakfast included even though it is mentioned while booking, so beware. Hotel staff help with room service in getting food to rooms.

Rooms: 1 star because that's the lowest possible. The rooms were unclean, and bathroom was especially very dirty. Even found a poisonous insect climbing up to wash basin. No bottled water or soap / bath gel provided. Towels were stained and smelly. Service: 4 star is for the several attendants present, who were eager to help. The tea service was prompt (tea was amazing). Location: 3 star is for proximity (stone's throw from temple). Otherwise, it's pretty foul place with garbage dump on one side of the property and open sewer running on other side of the lane. Overall, it's a forgettable experience except for the divine moments in temple. Rameshwaram as a tourist place is not value for money at all. This hotel charges 2k per night, but experience is substandard.

The hotel owner is very helpful. Service is quick and good. The location is very amazing for visiting the Temple. You can just walk. The rooms are quite small. People with claustrophobia should avoid. There was a lizard as well.

Rooms and rooms especially water in bathroom is very dirty and smelly. Smells like a sewage. Location is 3 mins walking to agni teertham and 10- 15 mins walking distance to temple. Rameshwaram as a tourist place may not be worth the money. It is not clean , open sewage canal almost everywhere.

Hotel location is good Agni theertham is about 700 mtrs, but the hotel is average. No hotel restaurant, no any room service facilities available from hotel owner. You need to visit a nearby restaurant for food. Temple is very near to the hotel. Theek thak ok type hotel hai.

If there left an option for zero star, I would give that. The room was not at all clean. Not worth of the money they charge. We went here for casual trip. Stayed one night. The staffs are very rude and they don't give equal respect, my driver was ill treated by them though we booked seperate room for him as well. I would not suggest this place to anyone else.
