Rudra Resort

We stayed here for one night with children . Positives first , excellent food and friendly service . We really liked the rural setting and absolute stillness of the place. Room has lot of plug points so as to charge your various gadgets . However Maintainence of the property reveals a lack of attention for details . Bathroom fittings are expensive but sadly same attention has not gone in cleaning the bathroom which puts you off . Linen also needs to be relooked there was no sheet provided under the blanket . Wifi was down on the day I stayed so cannot comment on that . The resort is a fair clip from the town with no conveyance so requires your personal vehicle to get around . All in all it is still a work in progress feel to the resort . I could do well with better attention to hygiene

They have charged me Rs.6000 and told to pay in advance...||Breakfast only Puri and sambar, there is nothing to serve.||they didn't have Mineral water bottle||One Manager who cook, serve, arrange towels and soap. they will give only one towel for all family members of 4||Around 3KM from HIGHWAY...||Please dont go and waste your money..Since I didnt find any hotel on festive season and late nigght with kids, hence I have to take...plus full of insect, spider...not cleaned room.||bedsheets seems to be not cleaned.||look like village hotel.||No room service or room cleaning.

This is my first review on my travel experience ever. I don't really want to hurt anyone, it is purely my view and experience.||||Based on other good reviews at tripadvisor about this place,I have booked a double cottage (for 2 adults + 2 kids) for 3500, by paying advance 1000. ||||On the day of check-in, I drove from Kumbakonam on Thanjavur - Tirchy road, I expected some sign boards but none, I was given direction from manager to around 3 kms from highway, passes thru 2 small villages, with no single sign boards on the way.||||We reached place and received by manager. We checked into a cottage, we are surprised to see the room is still being broomed, cobweb on the roof, swimming pool is yet to be cleaned and statellite TV is being configured, Except swimming pool, there is no other activities kids can do.||||Just within 5 min. from check in, manager has requested additional advance of 4000 for bringing additional guest (we took 1 additional guest, which i informed while booking). I never come across any place asking to pay almost 95% - 100% charges in advance. Looking at the amenities (only swimming pool and small lawn) and the poor cleanliness of the room, I didn't want to pay 5000 for a night, so I informed manager we are ready to pay only 3000 given the facilities, (I know it is not fair to bargain after booking, but having used to other resorts with better facility for 2500, places such as Mahabalipuram, Yelagiri, etc.,). But manager was not ready to reduce charge. I requested advance 1000 paid, but he refused to refund because we checked in, the room which is still being cleaned after check in. ||||As we don't want to waste another 3000 more for single night in this remote place with just a swimming pool facility, we cancelled the stay (losing 1000) and left the place immediately.||||Most importantly, the rates doesn't include lunch and dinner, this place is very remote, with no access to even a decent restaurant nearby, may be only option is to drive to Trichy or Thanjavur.

The resort lies wonderfully in mid of a peaceful village .The Dinner nearby swimming pool was really aweome. Also the Food Quality and service were good. To put together , It is a perfect place to spend your time with your family members

I spent two days there 4-5 February 2017 with 4 friends (all woman). |First of all this place it is not a "resort" but it's more like a farm in the middle of nothing very far from the nearest city (18km)..|*only three double room/house, big, nice but not really clean, with wasps and ants that live inside!|*one "restaurant" where doesn't exist a menu (they write it at the moment that we ask..) where the food is not so good (we had only one dinner there) and where in your "breakfast included" water, coffe and tea are not complimentary (ps we ordered at 8am and we had our breakfast at 11 am)|*the swimming pool is little and the two ducks that lives there love to swim in.|The staff members (one particularly) for the first few hours seems kinds, but soon they become inopportune, asking us money for their kids or family, comings to our patio while we were sitting together having conversation or having some food (rigorously bought outside!!) or even when we were sunbathing!! |That goes on all day long.. so you can't relax a minute outside of your room! |During the night we heard some steps outside and someone who knocked on the big window.. that was really frightful .. |..but what have scared us the most was that at the check- out we realized that the amount was really expensive and that they puts in the restaurant bill lots of double portions that we never order. |They told that they served double portions, (but nobody told us that those were double portions) and at the moment that we accepted we have to pay it. |We refuse to pay what was extra charged and they become really aggressive.. the taxi to Chennai airport that we have called was blocked behind the reception and for two long hours we nervously discussed and we were like hostages inside the resort risking to lose our flight...|DON'T GO THERE!!

They are charging for food like 5 star hotel but the quality of food is very bad. They don't even have room cleaning and room service swimming pool not maintained well. They won't give water also. Over all bad experience.

Good Resort and nice ambience.But wash rooms are not clean.Hygiene is not up to the mark.
