The Dense - A Jungle Resort

We had a fantastic time at the resort! The friendly staff made our stay truly memorable. Special shout-out to Ananth and Karthik, who graciously accommodated all our requests. The swimming pool and campfire were definite highlights. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Our recent visit to Dense Resort gave us a pleasant surprise by its ambience,densely covered by mangroves and herbal plants.Being under the foothills of Top slip it is a perfect resort far away from the maddening crowd to drench into bliss,happiness and tranquility. An experience that lingers in the mind for ever.

I have been travelling for the last 23 years, The Dense was one of the best stay , it was so pleasant with excellent hospitality from Mr. Karthik (Chef) & Mr. Anand. OMG the food was so delicious and lot of varieties. Well maintained property. Every penny is worth it, I highly recommended this property. All the best

We 11 retired women stayed there for 3 nights. It was a unique experience. Its situated among lush mango Groves and very close to the top slip forest entry. The food was excellent and the staff took personal care of everyone's needs and wishes by discussing the menu on previous day. They packed breakfast and lunch before 7am on the days we took a trip to valparai hills. The staff kumar and karthik are beyond compare. But they are the only two staff and they are terribly overworked. The resort needs a proper makeover. Such a wonderful place but lacks maintenance. Rooms are ok but bathrooms need a lot to be desired. Old buckets with leaky taps and insects and big red ants seeping through door frames. No wifi and poor network could be a boon to many and bane to some. They provide kettle but no tea coffee sachets which leaves you with no option but to drink semi hot tea that kumar very promptly brings. Acs malfunction often but is quickly set right by the two saviours. Overall an average experience. Definitely not 3 star.

Keep up the good work. Nice team. We spent 3 nights at the resort and since the resort is very close to the forest went for a forest safari but personally i think one can just stay within the resort and have a good time . A small cosy place with good entertainment options. Go as a group of 12 to 15 and book the whole place.||We din't find them on any online travel sites. Dont let that misguide you. Its a beautiful place in a beautiful location.||Strictly for those who love nature and privacy.

This resort is located very close to the wild life sanctuary with an awesome view of the mountains . I am a mountain fan, so that's something I have been looking forward to. U can simply wander around and have a good time.. And also the rooms are neat and the staff is friendly. We enjoyed the food on all days. We'll, Besides the basic menu, we could also order cocktail snacks in advance . We could easily visit nearby wild spots and we also spotted some animals like the samba deer, an elephant and wild boar very close to the resort at night.||This resort is a complete package surrounded by great views, a cosy place to stay and enjoy, have a time and of course good food.

We had a chance to stay at "The Dense" on a family trip for a couple of days. I had earlier searching extensively on TopSlip resorts found this out through Google and immediately saw the highly rated reviews on Tripadvisor and definitely it didn't disappoint. This looked more serene from the photos than the rest of the pack, so booked the same. let me start with pro's and then cover the areas of improvements:||||1. This place is the last one before the Topslip check post, and has only 4 cottages, so Serenity and privacy assured this way. There was some good rains when we visited and practically we had the whole resort for ourselves. (also refer room tips in that section).||2. Besides the privacy, the first thing that comes to my mind is the Food, its absolutely delicious, no second thoughts on that, right from the breakfast, lunch to dinner it was our choice and the cook managed to impress us each time. ||3. It was absolutely stunning in the rain, the pool and the AV Theatre room was good, there were few swings for the kids. They also have cycles.||4. The service provided by Mr.Anand and the cook Mr.Nepal was really great, they catered to our special food needs for our kid and i never saw a scorn on their faces, even for a minute.||||There are some areas where there could be improvement, there is no online (through website booking) to this place. So i guess booking through Credit card is a problem. I felt it was slightly overpriced (when compared to nearby resorts) but I think the food was worth it. The pool was a standard 4ft one, there was no kids partition, so the kids couldnt enjoy, it would have been better if there was one. The food service was late (the elderly in the group was feeling bit hungry)but i guess there was only one cook and he definitely made it up with its taste. Lastly for those with kids, I would recommend you take some appropriate insect repellants as this is amidst lot of trees. Some of the restrooms were more modern than the rest, one of my gripe was the heater was very small and if you want a good hot shower you would be in bad luck. (though you have hot water). The cell signal is fine around the reception area rooms, but none in C2 and C4 cottages. (but that should be fine to unwind your self)||||Room Tips: There are 4 cottages and none has breathtaking views but good garden views. C1 is near reception and is big and good restrooms. C2 is small but fine and serene. C3 is big but near generators (so noisy) and without any views. C4 is off the corner and most private and size was bigger then C2.

A great place to relax and spend time with nature. Awesome home made dishes which we really relished. Above all, i want to appreciate the two staffs, Kumar and Karthik (cook) who were very hospitable and friendly towards us. They were always around to make us feel comfortable and heed to our requests. Thank You
