"Down to Earth" Farmstay by LAKSEM

This is a nice, quiet resort in a good spot. The best part is you can play cricket with your friends in coconut farm. They serve fresh coconut water, and they have a swimming pool too. Great place to relax and enjoy with friends. Prices are reasonable.

Natural atmosphere... Very well maintained room. Fantastic service. The owner and staff are good human being. Tasty and hygienic home made foods.

Peaceful place to hangout.. Clean water swimming pool was quite good.. And the caretaker there is very polite and helpful..Must try dish here is naatukozhi(country chicken) here. Very very tasty as it is grown in their farmland. Everything in the house is designed so well by the property owner.

The stay was very nice and peaceful. The amenities were all great.Food was very good and it is homemade as well. Thanks a lot Ram Mohan sir(owner) for your hospitality.

It was an awesome stay , we stayed in December 2024 , but memories of this place has not faded yet. We reached the location at 4.00 am but Mr. Ram Mohan was very helpful at that hr of night also. Whenever we travel that part we will surely stay back at same place. Beautifully maintained property

I really liked the place, very nice business owners. It was very clean, we were welcomed, everything was explained and explained, this place makes your soul rest. Highly recommend to all people who want peace and quiet. Very tasty food, better to order in advance. Excellent location. Will definitely come again!

Its really a very good experience staying in down to earth resort. A very good village feel space to enjoi vacation with family . Overall very good experience. But can improve network coverage. Because incase of emergency there is no signal to contact. Other than that everything is good.

We stayed in Laksem during the third week of Dec 2024. I had booked it after seeing countless good reviews . To our surprise it was not all rosy and easy for us. So giving a real picture with both pros and cons. Pros: -The place is beautifully situated amidst coconut grooves. There were ponies, cows, peacocks, other lovely birds chirping around. -The food was good. Typical home cooked food - but the cook sometimes gave something totally different instead of what we ordered. -The tractor ride was enjoyable one. -If you plan for Anaimalai, parambikulam safari - its easily drivable from here. Cons: - Though the rooms were comfortable - it was infested with all crawling/flying insects - spiders(we spotted huge palm sized ones on the beds), cockroaches, tons of ants everywhere, slugs,moths, and several giant lizards on the commode, roof, behind tv, wardrobes, on the bed. We have to keep calling the helper to chase these away everytime we spotted. And we kept calling him throughout. It might be due to the season (winter) but neverheless this spoiled our stay . My kids are allergeic to spiders & ants & me to lizards. We never had a proper sleep for the 3 nights. To my utter dismay , on the second day I was stung by a honey bee ( there were countless outside our room along with wasps) near my right eye and it was excruiting pain. There was no emergency medication available with them and we had to ask for some small onion to control the inflammation. -I saw many reviews that the homestay owner was nice and approchable. Mr.Ram Mohan was indeed nice over phone, explaining everything. He infact refunded some extra charges paid. But he never met or visited us though he was in the vicinity talking to others. The warm hospitality of meeting the customers was missing . Never once did he ask how was the stay and was everything comfortable there for us. Nor did we know if he was aware of all the issues we were facing. We have to interact only with the local homestay helper. There was no manager also which was mentioned in some reviews. This is a real experience which would have been much better if these downsides were taken care of. Nevertheless pls check if you are going with kids and elders who are allergic to insects & other creatures. May be summer time might be best to avoid all these.
