I recently visited Monarch Hotel Ooty, and I made a big mistake. It had harsh, gaudy colors of the exterior made the place look anything but inviting. The bar was downright dingy, with dim lighting made me question if I even wanted to order a drink. To top it off, the menu was literally just a printed piece of paper--no effort, no presentation, nothing you'd expect from a hotel that claims to be three-star. If they cut corners on something as basic as this, I can only imagine how poorly maintained the rooms must be. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and professional hotel experience. There are far better options for the price. Avoid if possible. At reception just one person was there, no guest relation officer or for that matter there was no Door man to open the door. There was no point in posting photos

Well, calling this a disaster would be an understatement.|I stayed here for one night, and I'm beyond grateful I didn't stay longer. The property, especially the rooms, is in terrible condition, and I strongly advise against booking this place under any circumstances.|The service is dreadful. While the staff at the cafe is kind, the hotel is horribly understaffed, and the rates are on par with newer properties in Ooty, which is completely unjustified.|This place isn't worth 3000 per night per room, and the food is average at best. Honestly, there's nothing good about this place, so do yourself a favor and don't waste your hard-earned money here.|We paid 15,000 for two rooms after negotiating, as they initially asked for 17,000. But even then, upon arrival, we had to argue for the discount.|Also, the rooms weren't ready for check-in, and it took us exactly two hours to get everything sorted.|The staff at the cafe is polite and friendly, but they definitely need more training when it comes to food and beverage service.|Few highlights:|Toiletries - tissue roll stand and tissue both missing.|Sit outs - were dirty.|Fixtures - Old & wearing out.|Water - Jar kept, no bottled water.|There is more...........

Had a great weekend with family, clean big room. Good food and excellent views the views from the property I s excellent, the tea garden across the road has great views |The pool indoors I s also good. |Disco was under maintenance |Overall we had a great holiday

Rooms: Very old and outdated Service: worst, nobody to even welcome the guests nor to carry luggage Location: both good and bad. Good in terms of being located on top of hills where u get a beautiful view to see during Day and Night which is peaceful to sit alone or with ur family. Bad in terms of being located away from town, which makes u travel for lunch and dinner. U have an option of Complimentary Breakfast though, but it's not of good taste but manageable. Had it been in the middle of the town it would be easy to access other restaurants for own reasons.

Big spacious rooms, clean and functional hotel, vast open spaces with a good viewof ooty from above. Little distance from the market on top of a hill but worth it. Had read reviews and had to think twice about staying here, but it was worth it.

The ambience of the hotel is very good. Also the food is excellent. The service is very fast and good. Over all the experience was great.

Had a Splendid experience, From booking to stay to everything.. Booking was flawless( Booked directly and Mr. Bidesh was too helpful. View from the window and the lawn must deserve a special mention. Most importantly the staffs housekeeping( Mr. Nachi) and restaurant( Mr. H. Kumar)was too cordial and the food do score 10/10.. A must stay.. Last but Not the least Being Bong it is a pride to stay at The Monarch, Ooty
