Extremely Poor Stay - Not Worth the Money or the Hassle We stayed at The Hosteller Ooty for one night, and it was a thoroughly unpleasant experience. Upon arrival, we were given a choice between three rooms - unfortunately, none of them were up to basic standards. The first room had a terrible stench coming from the bed and furniture, while the third room was even worse - poorly maintained, with what seemed like dust or debris falling from the ceiling. We ended up choosing the second room, which was only slightly better. After settling in, we discovered the bathroom was in bad shape and that hot water was only available through a heater that needed to be turned on 30 minutes in advance - and it only provided enough hot water for one person. Each additional person had to wait another 30 minutes, which was incredibly inconvenient, especially in Ooty's cold weather. The blankets provided were thin and completely inadequate for the chilly night, and to make matters worse, there was no secure storage for our luggage - we had to leave our bags in the car for safety. All these issues combined meant we barely got any sleep and had to endure a cold, uncomfortable night. Overall, this place is poorly managed, not guest-ready, and absolutely not worth the price. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, or secure stay.

Rooms,property and care taker are good..but this property is small.. And the location is not as close to nature as expected...same with most of the properties in ooty since ooty is commercialized due hotels and businesses..so ijnthis location you will building and homes...and less nature and mountain. I would recommend to stay at coonor or kothagiri which is close to nature and you will stunning mountain views.. and less commercialized.. One of the property we stayed was The door to niravan in kotagiri... it has heavenly views.

Had a great stay at The Hosteller Ooty! The service was excellent -- staff was friendly, helpful, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Truly 5/5 on that front. However, one area of improvement would be the beds. They tend to make noise and could be of better quality. Upgrading them would definitely enhance the overall experience. Looking forward to visiting again!

I recently stayed at The Hosteller Ooty, and I had a wonderful experience overall! The property is beautifully located with stunning views of the surrounding hills, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests. The common areas, like the lounge and cafe, were great for socializing and meeting fellow travelers. The only downside is the road leading to the property. It's quite steep and a bit challenging to navigate, especially if you're not familiar with the area. However, it's just one of the routes to the hostel, so I would recommend avoiding it and opting for a different approach if possible. Overall, I had a fantastic time at The Hosteller Ooty and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Just be mindful of the road, and everything else will be great!

The location of this place is little remote with no eateries nearby. You have to come down to Mall Road for any food beverages. The rooms are okay but claustrophobic. Lawn area is decent and has game room. There is no view from rooms. Most turnoff point about this property was that it does not has a kitchen. Being a hostel and that too at remote location they should definitely have a kitchen caffe service. With the price it quotes, definitely not worth. They arrange bonfire in evening which was good Improvement area: 1. Provide kitchen service like at least stove, fridge, microwave, high tea and breakfast 2. Provide shuttle services to market area 3. Price re-calibration

The stay is great. Really cute and playful cat. Beds could have been slightly longer but it's not a major issue. Services are great, night bonfire is an amazing experience. Great location and scenes, slightly hard to reach here but it's fine.

We had an awesome experience at The Hosteller Ooty. As a couple, we stayed for two days and truly appreciated the warm and positive hospitality. Everything was great and made our stay very enjoyable. Just a small suggestion -- it would be wonderful if a complimentary fireplace could be included in the room. Other than that, we were extremely happy with our stay!
