Lymond House Ooty

Had an amazing stay here. The staffs are friendly and welcoming, they have a restaurant as well, a bit on pricier side but tasted really good. Would say value for the money for both the stay and the food. Would definitely book this place anytime I plan to visit Ooty.

If you are visiting Ooty, I would highly recommend staying at this beautiful old colonial mansion.||The location is great, the ambience is wonderful, and the service is impeccable. Although you are centrally located, you cannot hear any of the noise or commotion from town. It is as if you are in the countryside.||The grounds are very pretty, wonderful just to sit outside in the peace and calm. The food was wonderful, and I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Ooty.

I would give 4.5 stars to the place. The place is perfect for a family stay. The location is good, in isolation and away from the main traffic of Ooty but at the same time accessible to the main areas, markets as well. ||The maintenance of the place is very good with proper old and vintage decor. The host manager, Deepak ji, is very polite and helpful. Kingsley and other staff members were very helpful and nice too.||We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and had a great experience.

A authentic heritage stay. Lymond House has a soul feel. Have stayed there many times before in a span of thirty plus years. Always felt welcome and home. Serves good food and very dedicated service. A quiet place with a beautiful and peaceful garden.

A great, superbly crafted place for friends and families. If you are in a family/friend group of 5 to 6 families and looking for an exclusive place to relax in Ooty, this is the place. Great outdoor/indoor ambience, especially the restaurant (a cozy, European touch ambience). The only advice is, the Luxury Rooms need renovation just like the standard of the Suite Rooms

This is a nearly 200 years old HERITAGE bungalow built by Britishers, now owned by the Sait family. It is centrally located in Ooty. You ain't far away from any place in Ooty. The highlight is the SIX different types of rooms/villas. I have stayed twice at Lymond House, once in the central bungalow & once in FLORA villa. Yeah, the rooms/villas need a better maintenance given that there are minor irritants like creeky wooden flooring etc but these are minor ones, doesn't affect the functionality of the said rooms or villas. The other highlight of this property is the genial natured, ever helpful & sincere manager, Sri Deepak. A top notch CLIENT SERVICE oriented gentleman. Deepak is a very senior resource in the hospitality sector. In the 1990s, he had worked with the TAJ Group in Bengaluru. It wouldn't be fair if I don't mention the CHEF, Mr Asif who is always eager to prepare dishes as per your preference. He has an amiable personality with whom you would want to interact. An excellent chef. Deepak runs a TIGHT ship at Lymond House. Lymond House is my GO TO property in Ooty.

1 Star Extremely disappointed with our stay at Lymonds House. The owner is completely money-minded and shows no regard for guests or their comfort. The property is seriously overpriced for what it offers--an old, under-maintained building with nothing but creaky wooden floors, doors, and beds that make constant noise, especially at night. It gets quite spooky when it gets dark, and the whole place feels eerily isolated. The owner seems to be charging a premium for the "charm" of an old building, but nothing inside works properly, and the few old items on display are just for show. If you're staying with a small group, you will likely feel uncomfortable and disappointed. It's clear the owner is more focused on making money than providing a welcoming or pleasant experience. I would not recommend staying here unless you want to pay for a shabby, creepy, and uncomfortable stay.

This hotel has such a great and charming British style ambience ... the food is absolutely delicious . The staff and manager are also extremely friendly and courteous... I am again planning to stay there on my next ooty trip
