Mavallam Farms & Resorts

Very nice place to stay with family ... room facility and services are excellent. Especially, the taste of food is excellent... really worth it...

Location:||It is small farm stay in the tiny Mavallam village.||They seem to have 2 properties as some images posted in the reviews are different from where we stayed, the one we stayed had 4 rooms and didn't have any children's play area & outdoor seating area.||On the map it shows up as Talamali RF, but entire Mavallam village is under farming. We saw some deers roaming within 100 meters from the stay. We were told that elephants visit during corn planting season.||||Room:||The rooms are well appointed & fairly new, neat & clean. 2 towels provided with 2 shampoo sachets & soap bar. Hot water avialble through boiler, just let them know if its not hot, they will heat the boilers for you.||Each room has double bed & double bunk bed. Coffee table & couple of chairs, a medium size portico with a round table & couple of chairs.||||Food:||This is the highlight of the stay.||Wholesome & tasty home-made food, typical TamilNadu food. Dont request for north indian food, they dont specialize and you will be disappointed.||Lunch has sambar, rasam, papadam, rice, potato fry. Excellent & lip smacking good !!||Dinner was panner (tofu) gravy, chappati, idli, chutney & moong dal payasam. Didnt like Paneer gravy, but it was not bad either. But as i said, its not their speciality.||Breakfast we reqeusted for pooris, aaloo sabji & pongal, Jayaraj added medu vada, sambar & chutney too :) Excellent again !!||We asked for some snacks in the evening to go with drinks & Jayaraj arranged for excellent cauliflower pakoda. Though we didnt ask for it, then he followed it up with some salads :)||||Service:||Service is excellent||The caretaker Jayaraj is a very friendly person, just inform in advance & he will try his best to arrange whatever you have requested.||I was told that Satyamangalam tiger reserve has stopped offering official safaris, so Jayaraj took us in a Thar on the thimbam-mysore road.||Would have been nice to go into some interior road which are known only to locals.||I advise taking your own vehicle and take dhimbam-TN chekpost road towards chamrajnagar, you will spot elephants & deers for sure !!||||We were charged 5600/room on twin sharing basis which included all 3 meals.

Quiet place 2500 per head per day, includes lunch dinner & breakfast

If one is visiting satyamangalam tiger reserve or want to stay for a day or two in dhimbum area, Mavallam Farms is a very nice place to stay. 1. Rooms are built and maintained very neatly and has AC if needed. Good hot water provided in morning. Has double bed and 2 bunker beds in each room. 2. Jayaraj, the caretaker, along with his staff are very helpful and ensure good food and assistance needed is provided. 3. If one is a dog lover, there are two dobermans which are very friendly. They also have 2 other dogs. 4. Ajay, the owner is very helpful and ensures you have a good stay experience. 5. They have a beautiful Sai Baba temple in the adjacent compound and it's a very serene experience to visit the temple. 5. They also arrange for campfire and barbecue in one another part of their farm, as an additional activity. I've stayed twice at this place, once with friends and another time with family. Both occasions have been enjoyable experience.

I had visited this place along with friends on the second week of May. Located amidst dense greenery and just beside the Sathyamangala forest reserve. As it is still not a commercial place, it was very serene and quiet experience. The owner, Sriram along with the other staff members was extremely helpful and supportive in everything we asked for. The food, prepared with home grown ingredients was very tasty and cooked to perfection by the elderly woman, who we were told is with the family for about 3 decades. Everything from rooms, kitchen, dining room, campus to utensils are extremely clean and well maintained. The rooms are quite luxurious and cosy, with spotless white linens. Sriram himself is a wildlife enthusiast and can help anybody understand the floura and fauna of the surrounding forests. Would definitely recommend this place to anybody who is looking for serinity and wants an escape into pure nature (Also the amazing food and hospitality)..

My parents and I stayed here.||||Pros:||||1. The drive through the Ghat section to the Resort can be quite enthralling;||||2. The Resort is situated far from the madding crowd on the fringes of the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve;||||3. Nice, clean, and spacious rooms;||||4. Tasty and homely food;||||5. The road that leads up to the Resort and beyond has great potential for birding; and||||6. Pleasant weather throughout the year (can get quite cold during winter nights).||||Cons:||||1. Limited parking space;||||2. Lack of hot water in the bathroom; and||||3. Once we arrived, Shriram informed me that he would ask his driver to take me around in his jeep. However, his driver arrived very late, as a result of which we could take only a short drive. Likewise, I asked the driver to come the next day as well, but he did not show up. The roads around the Resort have excellent potential for wildlife sightings.

It was a weekend holiday that was planned at the last minute but turned out to be a memorable one. The rooms were full but the dormitory was also comfortable and neat. The hospitality was outstanding and we ended up eating more than our normal levels because the food was so tasty. Sathyamangalam - the most recently created tiger sanctuary was outstanding inspite of deficient rains. Mr Sriram, the owner of the resort and his team ensured that we left the place with a lot of memories.

A best place for a calm stay out of a machine life, Very nice hospitality by Jeyaraj, Saikat & one good chef. Very humble staffs with a lot of care and services. A very safe place surrounded by a deep forest...
