I had an extremely disappointing and stressful experience during my stay at this hotel. I was initially given Room #102, which was provided to me only by 3:30 PM--well past the promised check-in time of 2 PM. The room was not only significantly smaller than advertised, but also in poor condition. The bedsheet was dirty, used towels were left in the wardrobe, and the fan was noisy. Although some of these were temporarily addressed upon request, the issues kept recurring. The AC was also noisy and never properly fixed despite multiple assurances. To make matters worse, the room was full of mosquitoes, and no solution was provided despite my concerns--especially alarming with a child staying with me. Basic amenities like the Wi-Fi password and bathroom supplies were given only after several follow-ups.||||Due to all these issues, I requested a room change, but was initially told no rooms were available. Only after escalating the matter to the property manager, Mr. Shankar, was I offered Room #103. Unfortunately, this room was no better--the AC didn't cool the room even after 45 minutes, the fan was again noisy, and it was clear that my family and I couldn't sleep in such conditions given the summer heat. Even the manager acknowledged the problem but later contradicted himself and even made inappropriate remarks, suggesting I check with other guests or go to the police station if I wasn't satisfied.||||In total, I spent 4.5 hours at the property--most of which was spent making calls, following up with staff, and dealing with maintenance issues. I eventually had to leave and stay at a relative's house, completely losing peace of mind and wasting an entire day.||||This is such a terrible experience. This was not just poor service--it was mental harassment.
Centrally located and walkable to shore temple site. Nicely maintained premises, Friendly staff, Good breakfast, Clean rooms. But double bed room is of small size. I recommend this hotel for budgetary tourists.
This is a comfortable in a very good location to all local sights. The restaurants and staff are very good. Tge hotel has a small pool but areas to sit out of the sun are limited. The rooms are spacious and clean, maintenance is OK but overall could use a freshen up.
As others have said we also had a serious problem with the air conditioning not working, and being repeatedly fobbed off by the night manager - over a period of two hours. I was able to prove that the temperature was over 30 degrees centigrade in the room at midnight, and it still took multiple trips to reception, and repeated attempts to gaslight us, despite early acknowledgment that the a/c wasn't working. We were eventually allowed to move into the empty room next door, which was exactly the same but had fully working A/C. Why it took two hours and a lot of nonsense to do that I don't know. The day manager apologised and gave us a single free breakfast (we still had to pay for two others) but I really would have much preferred the extra sleep... if they had dealt with it quickly then it would have been a great stay. Nice hotel, good location, breakfast and coffee good.
Stay at Mamalla Heritage is absolutely out of the world. I had an amazing experience staying with them. The amenities provided, service by staff with coordination & calm, and hotel at a prime location was worth the price. It is near the bus stand and just 5 minutes walking to Krishna's butter ball. Hotel is on a local street but the on the inside its a luxurious experience. The chef went out his way to prepare packed lunch for us, which we was appreciated. Not only did i fancy the prompt room-service but the highlight of my stay was the swimming pool with the best view. I had a wonderful experience staying at the Mamalla Heritage and highly recommend a stay here when in Mahabalipuram
Breakfast was very tasty. Nice of them to cook extra food, that wasn't included in the buffet, and bring it to our table. Was a struggle to shower every day with the hot water being extremely inconsistent out of the shower. It was very rarely consistent and at most times come out in fast bursts or not come at all. Air conditioning, ceiling fans and lighting was working well. Beds were very comfortable as well. Overall, I would say this hotel is 3.5 stars out of 5.
Nice hotel, very clean. Pool great but poolside area very small and only a few sunbeds. The staff were very helpful, polite and welcoming. |Complex needs a little repair but very good value for money. Great restaurant. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel.
