The Grate Tower

I had a very disappointing experience. The extra bed provided was nothing more than a large, dirty sponge -- extremely uncomfortable and unhygienic. The TV in the room didn't work at all, which was frustrating. As for the pillows, they were so hard and stiff, they felt like rusks -- definitely not suitable for a good night's sleep. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. It was a complete waste of money.

Terrible lodge experience. Auto drivers often recommend this place to newcomers for the commission. The rooms and toilets lack basic hygiene. The bedsheets and pillows were filthy. The toilet was very unhygienic, and the door locks weren't secure, they open door of already booked room with second key, no privacy at all. The service was frustrating--staff constantly asked for tips morning, afternoon, and night under the guise of service. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Very bad service. Pathetic and rude behavior by staff. Even drinking water is not available on the floor. Suffocated and dirty rooms. Not Recomandale at all.

Wall paint put, washroom below average, 800 min for doublebed auto driver will get u here, no less for 1 or 2 hr stay. Small rooms small fans. Paid 40 rs tip to staff begging for money everytime. U check out just like that.

Because, it is well for a budget handling people who are going through the same as well.

Worst lodge. Auto-drivers for the sake of commission will suggest this lodge for all new peoples. People who knew this lodge won't prefer No hygiene in room and toilets. Bedsheets and pillows are so dirty and had leftover hairs which is not cleaned. Toilet is so unhygienic. Door locks are not proper. Room boys in the name of service asking for money in the morning, afternoon and night each time.

Management is very bad, early morning at 4am they knock door ask you to leave. Where as while taking room they said 24hrs charge is 1500. Asked us to leave for 4hrs only do not opt it's pure nuisance early morning to have.

It is a below average hotel but located in the main (town hall road)madurai. Prices are affordable. They charge only Rs.700 for a single room with attached bathroom and with a medium sized Cot. No proper ventilation but overall it is okay.
