Hotel Sabareesh Plaza

Shabareesh Plaza , Madurai , Tamil Nadu . I stayed at Shabareesh Plaza during my Madurai visit and found it to be a very convenient choice for temple travelers. The hotel is just a short walk from the Meenakshi Temple entrance, making it ideal for exploring the local streets on foot. Though the property doesn't have an in-house restaurant, plenty of food outlets are available nearby, so it wasn't a hassle. The AC room was spacious, clean, and maintained. The staff were courteous and helpful . It's a popular hotel during peak season, so I'd recommend booking early. Great option if you're looking for a simple, comfortable, and temple-accessible stay.

Hotel on west gate : If one wants jail experience with no breathing air book single room non A/C on 3rd floor . Flush will not work, so you end up cleaning all others. No water provided. No proper toiletries, bed spread dirty. Ladies can't wear even saree on the half feet space left after bed space. Water from bath room will flood the room while bathing. No cleanliness. Please check room floor number(terrace is scorching in summer) and check video before booking. Guy in the reception is too rude and cant act on any notifications, not curtious to arrange to carry the luggage till car for ladies(due to repair work) too while checking out. Expecting the lady owner to take a personal visit to uphold the temple City and tamil reputation on hospitality from other states, country

This was the worst stay ever. If you have heavy luggage, avoid this hotel. Since it is located within the restricted area of the temple premises, cabs and autos are not allowed nearby. Vehicles stop about 500 meters away, and you'll have to carry your luggage yourself. The hotel is a budget option with no amenities. I booked two non-A/C rooms, and they were extremely small and dirty. The double bed provided was only 6 feet long, with small, uncomfortable pillows. No bedsheets or quilts were provided. The bathroom was tiny, the flush didn't work, and the setup box for the TV stopped working the next morning. The only positive is its location--right next to the Meenakshi Amman Temple, offering a good view of the temple from the premises. Think twice before booking. It's not worth it.

The hotel is in the vicinity of the Meenakshi Amman Temple which is the only highlight point of the place. So you can keep your footwear and mobile in the room when you visit the temple as they are not allowed inside. Rooms are too small if you have more luggage. We stayed in the Non AC room. There is no breakfast or any restaurant in the hotel (just fyi). You can get plenty of them nearby. Our rooms were pest infested Also if coming by taxi or car you cannot go to the hotel directly as the road is closed for vehicles. You have to carry your luggage to the hotel. Overall its okay if you are visiting the temple its worth to stay as there are only few good hotels in the vicinity.

Not a great experience staying at Hotel Sabareesh Plaza Location: Located on the peripheral road of the temple hence temple is walkable. However, no vehicles are allowed in this zone. If you are travelling with luggage then be ready to walk atleast 300 meters. Room: Dirty rooms, dirty linen, dirty Toilets. Bedsheet were not changed and it appeared like they were used multiple times. There were stains on bedsheet. There appears to be bed bugs as well. Mattress was extremely uncomfortable to sleep in. Toilets were very small, barely space to sit or stand while bathing. Shower was not working and I could not find switch for water heater. Toilet door was not locking. Room AC was set by staff however we could not change temperature as the AC would switch off if we pressed any button on remote. Service was not good. Although entry was comfortable but after that everyone who we came across at hotel asked for tip (not sure for what). No help provided in cleaning bath room etc. Eventually everything boiles down to value against price. Hence, atleast in my opinion, if you are getting this room for Rs. 1,000 rupees or around that then I guess it is ok. If you are getting it for more than Rs. 1,500 then may be evaluate options. This is Reviewer's opinion.

No hot water. We were told hot water will come. But no water. Even not bathroom kit provided. We were assured still not provided. We arrived late. Still Full tight check out time. No concession during checkout

Room: 1. The first room given to us had many small cockroaches on the bed and floor. We got it changed. The second room had very few 2. AC did not work at all. Since the windows didn't have mosquito net, we had to keep it closed and non-functional AC made it very suffocating. 3. Only 1 socket was working 4. TV was not functional 5. Hot water was not there as long as we were there from 10 PM to 6 AM. It may have come later not sure. 6. Only bed sheet were given, no blankets. Since AC didn't work so we didn't need it. Staff: 1. The young man in the reception was frustrated for some reason. Did not make us feel welcome at all, instead he was rude. Location: 1. Only good thing about this place. It's right in the corner of North-West side of the temple. 2. However, it is also a demerit, because it's in the no-vehicle zone, so you'll have to drag your luggage for some 100m. Luckily we don't have too heavy luggage.

Room seems to be great in pictures . But there are bed bugs . Wasn't able to sleep at all. Room size are quiet small. Also the bathroom is very conjested and faucet was not working and all they did is said sorry . I am giving 1 star because of all these.
