Hotel New College House

Firstly, this is a walkable distance from Madurai Railway station. Rooms were not that much neat, I can give 2 star out of 5, It was very old looking and had bed bugs. Service: I cannot give negative stars so not giving any stars. I booked one Non Ac room for 4 members for the cost of Rs.1700 from 6am to 12pm. While booking we clearly informed that we will be not staying at room , will be out to visit temples. They agreed. We are supposed to get Breakfast as complimentary ( which was informed by hotel itself while booking the room), but the receptionist refused to give for 2 members as he mentioned this room is only refreshing. They charged Rs.150 for 3 tea and 2 coffee at worst quality. While checking, the helper asked for money , we paid. While check out, 3 helpers came to the parking and asking for money. Its completely a money minded hotel with worst service. If you have other options to stay may be you can prefer that.

I had variety of choices, but chose this one as I had to go to the temple next day early in the morning. the rooms were very clean, bathrooms were top notch. The food options near the hotel are good /excellent I would say. The cost was excellent, the suggestion from the staff for a Non AC room was great instead of suggesting me AC rooms.

This hotel is quite old need major renovation. Rooms are quite small, full of masquitos, corridors are very dirty- really i have never seen that much dirty & badly maintained corridors. every rooms having some issues- no curtain, broken tap, dirty towels, very smalls rooms. looks like they clean dustbins weekly. Funny part is - they put AC exaust in walkway/corridor-Just imagine the air quality & heat for guest. service is too bad no body will look to u for anything but staff will ask u for tip. Restaurant is over priced with respect to quality of food. Only good thing is location. They have Parking space but open parking. Not recomended this hotel to anybody for any trip.

Very old room. Dirty. Beds are very old caused severe back pain. Needs to be changed. Rooms are located in a very noisy place. Can't even sleep for atleast 15 minutes. Traffic sound, running and horn sound running of vehicles created very big trauma. No drinking water provided. When requested, asked us to drink RO water if needed. Beds are curved, causing pain Not even basic facilities and for the amount paid.

It's an accident, Even though it's not a season, they're not ready to adjust. If you take a double room with your kid( 5 years old), they'll not allow free breakfast. Rude behaviour. I'll not recommend this one

In a prime location surrounded by places of interest. Meenakshi Amman temple is 15 minutes walk, just opposite to Railway Station in town hall road. 5 minutes from Periyar Bus Stand. Rooms are big and spacious. Can be better maintained. Very limited parking available. Restaurant is available. Hospitality is good.

Located near to all the major locations in madurai. It is one okay hotel. It is the way you look at the hotel. Obviously the rooms are worse for the price, but the location is good. Closer to Madurai junction and walkable distance from Meenakshi Amman Kovil, periyar bus stand. They haven't serviced the things that they should have serviced. But it is a iconic place and they are ruining for sure. The second time I'm visiting but this time it has definitely become worse. And every single person is asking for tips, it's fine if they do some work atleast. Would not recommend unless you really don't have any other locations. Just don't expect top notch experience. They do have parking for cars. And the rooms were some what clean. I have seen reviews of not clean rooms. Complementary breakfast was provided which was good. Definitely not worth for the price.

Very worst hotel I have ever seen. Very much disappointed in cleanliness the rooms are very dirty and the toilet looks like the public toilet. Only one thing the food given for the breakfast is good. The worst part is they are charging amount for the kids breakfast
