Gopuram Residency

We had a great stay at Gopuram Residency as a family of 3 including a 9 year old. Our friends, a couple, also had a great stay in their room. It is great quality for the price compared to other comparable hotels in India. The bathroom was clean enough for Western comfort and included toilet paper, soaps, and fresh towels., The A/C and fan were champions even in 40degC days. The beds and linens were comfortable and clean. There is no view from windows. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location cannot be beat immediately next to the West Temple entrance and on a road mercifully free of cars, tuktuk, and scooters. We would stay here again.

The hotel was right opposite to the temple which was super convenient and stress free. The rooms were clean and compact. The staffs were friendly and extremely helpful. The experience was overall very good and peaceful. Hoping and wishing that the entire team of GOPURAM Residency will maintain the same standard of service going forward too.

This hotel is worth for the money spending. We have taken 3 BHK which cost is Rs.2100 and room is really big and very clean. Rest rooms are very well maintained. They are providing free water bottles, soaps and shampoos also. Location is exactly opposite to temple and is 100 metres from meenakshi Amman temple. Service is very good.

value for money stay. this hotel is so close to the gate of temple that u can leave ur shoes at hotel and go barefoot to the temple. staying here save ur time and money of reaching temple to hotel. staff is very cooperative. u can have an amazing view of temple from hotel rooftop. rooms r very small in size but sufficient for two persons. they dont hv kitchen, but if u ask they provide u food in rooms. Mosquitoes r a big problem here.

Hotel is located just 20 feet from West tower of Meenakshi Temple and hotel is noise free as vehicles are not allowed in that road as per temple guidelines and had a pleasant stay with comfortable and clean rooms. They don't have restaurant but staffs are very friendly and they are getting food from other nearby restaurants for us. Strongly recommendable for families. Felt safe and secured

It's very close to the temple. Quite opposite to the west tower entrance. Their service was excellent, I can recommend this for a family stay. The only con is the parking space. We can't park our car as it is very close to the temple and this cannot be done. We should park 200 mts away from this place and carry our luggage to the hotel. That's the only difficulty we faced apart from that everything seems cool and pretty nice.

The hotel location is good, very close to temple tower 4 entrance, and the property is clean. They have the check in at 2pm and check out at 12 pm, knowing that most of their customers will be coming for temple visit. They charge you additional half day charges for early morning check in irrespective of the check out time, a tactic to make more money. Even the basic supply of drinking water is not provided. Also the complementaries like tea and coffee is not provided in the room. So I will not recommend this hotel.

Worst service. Please do not book this hotel. I do not want to give even one star also. The staff act like rowdies and we had one of the most difficult experience. Madurai is such a nice place and because of such cheap people we tend to think all people are like this. We had difficulty in locating the place as it is in a small gully,opp to temple. They do not have parking. Please consider this before you book this place. They will ask you to park the vehicle somewhere else. They wont even bother if you are new to the city also. The staff are very RUDE AND ARE LIKE ROWDIES. They might even hit you also as they are bad tempered. The AC was leaking and even after complaining nobody came to check or repair it. Please do not waste your money and think that it is very near to temple and hence you can book it. Kindly do not consider booking this hotel based on the location. If you treat hotel guests like this,it means that you people treat your guests the same way who come to your place. Do you know how inconvenient it is to get this kind of shock when you visit Madurai with a mind that you will seek blessings from goddess Meenakshi. Highly disappointed. Total waste of money. Bathroom is too small and room was not so great. I wont even give it a zero star.
