Sri Venkataramana Hotel & Residency

During my holiday trip, I visited Kumbakonam and stayed at Sri Venkataramana Residence. It was quite good and very budget-friendly. I took an AC room, and for two adults, the charge was around Rs. 1600. The location is excellent--very close to all the temples we wanted to visit, and we covered them all by walk. No need for autos or any transport. One more highlight is the room service and hotel service is very Good.They are very polite, and their way of receiving and serving guests is truly commendable. Coming to the food, it was really nice. The same owner runs a hotel right next to the residence. We had lunch, dinner, and breakfast there--it was awesome.

It used to be one of the finest hotels in Kumbakonam and had a location advantage of being near major temples. I've been coming here for the past 15 years. Now in 2025 it's gone into complete disarray. No proper staff, poorly maintained rooms with dirty linen and the list is endless. The management should take into account of all this and rectify it. The crown jewel of this hotel is their restaurant and I'd highly recommend it.

Although I have never stayed there, we had a "special" lunch there, the food, taste, and service were the worst. The Tiffin variety might be good. I'm not sure the owner checks the quality of the food or not ? Please advise the management to the chef try to make the taste food with quality.

We took food parcels for lunch. The curries are good. As a family from Andhra, we felt the food is good in taste and meaningful portions. Filter coffee here is a must try.

I went here for lunch. The quality of the food was good. I also think the food serving methods are very good. You can buy and eat as much unlimited food as you want.

I stayed in venkatramana residency for 2 days the 3 bed room is comfortable and spacious, but the ac is too old window ac cooling is not coming from ac.room service is good. The meals is homely and tasty good for our stomach. Over all in kumbakonam venkatramana hotel is best place to stay and eat.

Very good south indian food. Good quality. The flavours are mild and not too spicy. Prices are reasonable

Very costly for the poorly maintained Lodge. Location is the only good point here. Don't Go to their restaurant on the ground floor. It is the worst restaurant but the pricing is like a premium hotel.
