Sri Madhura Homes (Homestay)

I stayed with my parents,wife and kid for 2 nights. Positive: Great location. Helpful host with enthusiasm to help and guide locally. Free covered parking. Kitchen with induction and basic utensils. A common fridge. Bathrooms with geysers and moderate spacious rooms. Can be improved: The room I stayed, ground floor was smelling may be due to seepage in walls and leaked tiles. It's all felt like moist and bed was cool/moist as well. We have to keep fans on and windows open to get rid of the smell and moisture. Mosquitos is a problem but can't help much due to open space around. A television can be provided at this price. AC in ground floor bed room 1 was leaking inside even on a 10 mins use. Overall a moderate stay with quite few things to improve. Thanks for hosting us.

Extremely clean and hygienic rooms. Very satisfying stay. Food to be arranged from Iyengar hotel nearby. That restaurant is also hygienic and reasonably priced.

Nice place to stay in center of Kumbakonam, suitable for family located in housing area. Owner is helpful. Overall a nice stay.

This area is lively but not noisywhich is a plus for a good night's sleep. The check in process was smooth and efficient. The room was well cleaned with comfortable bed and modern amenities.I had a pleasant stay.

Review of Sri Madhura Home, Kumbakonam My experience at Sri Madhura Home in Kumbakonam was very disappointing. The property did not live up to the expectations set by its online listing. Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the home was subpar. The rooms were dusty, and the bedding seemed unclean. There was a musty smell throughout the house, and the bathrooms were particularly concerning, with mold in the corners and poorly maintained fixtures. Amenities: The amenities were severely lacking. There was no WiFi, no TV, or any other form of entertainment available. Even after several attempts to ask for drinking water, I received no response from the host. The kitchen was poorly stocked with utensils and appliances, making it difficult to prepare even simple meals. Additionally, basic necessities like hot water were unreliable. Ambience: The ambience was disappointing. The decor was outdated, and the common areas were dimly lit, making the space feel cold and uninviting. The overall environment did not have the warmth or comfort one expects from a homestay. Host Interaction: The host interaction was unprofessional. Communication was slow, and when I raised concerns, they were dismissed without any attempt to resolve the issues. To make matters worse, the checkout time was listed as 11:00 PM on our receipt (as we booked from 10:00 PM for two nights), but the host arrived at 9:40 PM and chased us out without any proper explanation or courtesy. Overall: I do not recommend staying at Sri Madhura Home in Kumbakonam. The poor cleanliness, lack of amenities, unwelcoming ambience, and unprofessional host behavior made for an unpleasant stay. There are better options available in the area that offer more comfort and value for your money.
