Room was neat and clean. Location is the best as it is near popular spots and view from the hotel is amazing. Food is good but too limited to experience variety. Surroundings is quite beautiful and one can spend lots of time seating in the common place

This place was absolutely stunning and from our room we had the most beautiful sunrise. Everything about this place was good. However, one tea or coffee costs 145 rupees which is crazyyyy and they did not tell us how much it cost before we ordered it. Also the restaurant was not open but looking back it probably would have been so expensive and unaffordable. If it wasn't for the fact that the staff offered us tea and coffee without disclosing its cost it would be a 5 star review.....however it meant I had to pay an additional 145 per tea / coffee for our stay
I highly recommend this hotel, as it is located in an excellent spot! The view is stunning, almost as if you're right in a cloud. The rooms are spacious, and the shower has hot water, which is a great plus. The restaurant is also outstanding. The staff at the reception treated us wonderfully and were eager to help with anything we needed. However, I did notice some small details that could use a bit more attention, such as the lack of hand towels and a dirty sheet we found. But once we requested a change, they promptly took care of it. It's also worth noting that there is no heating, and it can get quite chilly at night, so be sure to bring appropriate clothing. Overall, a lovely stay!
A true 150 year old colonial Bungalow at a prime location near Coaker's Walk has been renovated beautifully and transformed into cute hotel overlooking the valley. Excellent service by the staff and reasonably good food. The garden and lawn overlooking the valley has been well maintained and adds to the pleasant experience.
Right next to coaker's walk, most of the prime locations are very near to the hotel. Kodai lake is at walking distance. The garden area is amazing. One thing to keep in mind is that their restaurant is closed so only tea and coffee is available. It was said to resume operations from 1st April so better call them and confirm your food options.
A respite from the maddening work schedule was the sole reason to plan a 3 day holiday at Kodaikanal - an escape we often have made in the last 3 decades as a family. We love the calm nature, with the eucalyptus laden fragrance in the gentle breeze that keeps bringing in a draft of fresh and chill air, the serene lake (now ridden off the weeds that used to spoil the beauty of the waters), the beautiful nature with its flowers often wild and robust as they often appeared to be - the nature itself taking care of their wellbeing, the winding roads which once were broken and poorly laid but now much better in condition, for its less commercialised state though it has become much the same as other hill stations nearby. With the winter withdrawing its cold clutches on the weather and the summer stepping in with the season for visitors just getting started, we chose the right time to reach our destination avoiding the weekend. So the places of interest like the Cockers walk, the Guna caves, the Pine forest and the various water falls around were less crowded. The roads were still congested with the daily visitors who would leave by the end of the day. The new season setting in made the vendors and shop keepers appear more genial and welcoming to the guests of the small town.||Having booked our stay through booking.com, we landed up in a very historical dwelling place, small as it is but intertwined in the very history of the town that traces back to the 1845, J.T Noyes having founded the town and having built original shacks along the cliffs of the hill station then. The property has evolved into a boutique hotel, preserving the colonial charm and all the while adding modern amenities. The well kept garden and lawn all around the small villa which holds nearly 14-20 rooms of various sizes and state of luxury. Our focus of attraction was the restaurant which is on the eastern side facing the valley - giving it a surreal feel and view of the nature and the advantage of sitting perched on the cliff side looking down the 2225 metres (7300 ft) that the town is above sea level. The early morning sunlight seeping in unhindered making the lawn outside the restaurant a favourite spot for lazing away in the bright lit nature watching the steep incline therein even as one could see all the hills that lined that zone of the western ghats in varying hues of green mostly seen as humps over the horizon with the clean air facilitating the best of blues to be enjoyed as one watched the skies above those hills - the clouds standing still with their jewel like silver lining making the scene so mesmerising and as though one is in a magic world. The staff being very cordial yet professional, attending to all our needs with prompt service delivered all through the three nights we stayed there. Initially hesitant to have our meals at the stay, we found the food served very fresh, and palatable - in that the moderate levels of spice made it easily adaptable to any guests around. Thus we had most of our meals at the hotel itself, which included the customary breakfast which came complimentary prepared to order. Shanker one of the staff at the restaurant whom l would like to appreciate for his polite and mild mannered ways - always willing to help and guide us with the menu. All the staff in the hotel being very kind and well mannered to the guests - we could not find one who were discontent about any of the services they provided. The rooms were just adequately furnished and the one we happened to stay was clean and tidy with a small balcony looking over the town and the road leading to the town. After the hectic schedule that one is used to these surroundings and the cool nights allowed peaceful sleep but the soft and thick layers of foam mattress didnt provide good support to the spine causing a lower back ache.||Kodai being a place of our holidaying at frequent intervals it is familiar abode with a few places that is worth visiting each while. The Cockers walk which stands adjacent to our place of stay, has changed for the better with the path being paved and yet a few more platforms being erected to allow the visitors a better view of the valley below - the hawkers lining the path with everyday wares that are needed for the cold weather - many a wares having changed with the times looked more charming with the Chinese touch and innovation being very evident in most of them. The road from the hotel leading up towards the other sites of attraction - like the Pillar rocks, the Pine forest and the Guna caves with the Liril water falls on the way - being a week day the place was less crowded with the traffic appearing more civil and manageable. Only if the visitors were more conscious of the nature around, and also the others around them and their needs, the place would have been a lot more attractive and enjoyable. We went through these places one day and then returned to the lovely stay to have our lunch and rest for a while and lazing away the time. The next day we went for our boat ride with the usually bustling jetty looking almost abandoned with a measly crowd lined up to board the boats all moored around the place. The clean and serene waters was a sight to behold with the bright sunlight and intermittent cool breeze together providing a cozy weather that one could enjoy as we went around for a short ride on a peddle boat. The horses around the lake waiting to be ridden looked more healthy than before, which was a big relief as often we used to feel sad for these creatures which often used to look poorly fed and cared for decades back when we used to go to this holiday spot. The start of the season was very evident with the shop keepers eagerly waiting for the holiday crowd to built up, the rifles staying idle by the road side and the balloons all rowed up to be popped by the well aiming eye of the sharp shooter kid who would fight with the parent to part with the money to pay the vendor, the steaming fresh corns and the pickled vegetables all bottled up and waiting for the hungry soul, the ice cream palours with all the attractive coloured bottles with shakes of various flavours. All these are a familiar sight to the wary visitor who lands up in this peaceful place of visit.||After 3 days of stay and 3 nights of comfortable sleep we made an escape after an early breakfast - the descend taking just half the time we took to climb the hills. au revoir dear Kodai. We will surely return another day as we love you dearly and wish to repeatedly go through this endearing experience every 2-3 years even as we go through the hectic life schedule.
